- Man #1: Think of déjà vu; you flash from reality to that weird familiar and then back again... if you flip that around, that's where we seem to be.
- Man #1: What were you looking for?
- Joseph List: Yeah... my meds, I was looking for my meds. I need my meds.
- Man #1: What do you mean meds? Why were you looking for meds?
- Joseph List: I don't know, I just woke up and it felt automatic. That's it, that's why, right?
- Man #1: What do you mean?
- Joseph List: I'm hallucinating. I gotta find the meds, I gotta get right.
- Man #1: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! I am not a hallucination! Believe me, I exist...
- Joseph List: We're dead. We're ghosts aren't we?
- Dobbs: I've contemplated this. I've contemplated much. We could be ghosts, but not in the classic sense, it's nowhere near as fun, I mean, we can't scare the shit out of anyone, I never see anyone I know or if I do I don't remember who they are. As best I can tell, we are like the widgets in a math problem, we only exist because of the question, beyond that we don't exist, we don't matter.
- Dobbs: Well this is only conjecture. At some point, you as well as I decided or should I, say assumed that we would be great. Everybody wants to be a rock star, everybody thinks they are going to be a rock star. But suddenly you figure out that you are nothing more than a rock breaker. Another prisoner on the chain gang.
- Dobbs: We're lowborn Joe. Our curse is that we somehow became hardwired in to thinking that we could change that.
