Suspense and intriguing mysteries
DanishYeti12 January 2013
Angelika Schnell (the name is German for fast, so the title has double meaning) is head of a Wiena homicide squad and a chameleon personality. One minute she is a typical single-mom driving the kids to school, next a top professional no-nonsense boss, a flirting femme fatale, a tough Bruce Willis style action hero. But most important she can put herself inside the victims mind and feel the circumstances leading to the crime. There is a very human touch to the characters dealing with everyday problems inside these very thrilling murder-mysteries. The puzzle to solve the mysteries are realistic and well put together and real brain teasers.

very good

Warning: Spoilers
Yes, it has that contemporary police series american style: same camera use, same fast pace, same plot twists, same way of creating characters with a developed human side, characters a watcher can relate to or identify with, same use of music, same sense of humour in the presence of gruesome scenes or dead bodies... even the same kind of photography. But you know what? It's better then american series! Much better. Austria and Germany have a great tradition in creating good police series and this one rivals with the celebrated ones like Derrick. So it's not strange to see actors like Phillip Moog (the super-villain in the first seasons) who were in many Derrick's episodes when he was in his twenties or so. A must watch for anyone if you like the genre.
