Patty dismisses his filing and tries to encourage him to turn on the Tobins while he still has some good reputation left. "You're not a Tobin, Mr. Winstone. Keep acting like one, and I'll punish you like one."
Ellen arrives at Patty's for dinner, bearing flowers. There's no dinner party. Patty's working at the table alone. She says it was for tomorrow, Friday. (She said Thursday.) Patty appears to be working, and acts like it's a mix-up. Alex Benjamin, Ellen's replacement, comes in from the other room. Ellen seems to get the charade Patty's putting on. She won't commit to dinner the following night. "We'll see."

He says she won't be in any trouble if she keeps telling the truth.

Lenny visits a woman named Barbara Wiggins in a retirement home, bearing a plant and a bear. The woman at the desk calls him into the back to tell him Wiggins died five months ago. Lenny asks why he wasn't notified. Her husband Albert made the arrangements. Lenny is quiet, but clearly enraged as he puts the pieces together.
At the office, Ellen and her cronies decide to talk to Joe about his dad and the potassium, since he was the last one to see him alive.
The Tobins meet in Joe's hotel. After Carol leaves, Joe asks his mom if she told Patty about Tessa. Marilyn admits it. "There's no point in protecting your father anymore," she says. "Yes there is," he says, and gives her the sable from Zedeck, calling it the tip of the iceberg.

"What's that family going to do when they find out you've been lying to them all these years?"
Noonan learns they ID'd a finger print on Ellen's bloody purse --it dates back to 1984, to a petty thief named Lester Wiggins.

Ellen meets with Patty at her apartment and Patty calls her out for the Alex-Josh Reston play. Patty enjoys it, and thinks Ellen is upset she replaced her. "Patty, you hired someone; you didn't replace me," Ellen says.
But Alex isn't why Ellen is there. She tells Patty she thinks Carol Tobin killed Danielle. She tells Patty about the doorman, and that she hasn't told her boss. She thinks Patty can use Carol as leverage to get the Tobin's money. She thinks it's time they work together.
