- The four remaining couples perform a dance that they have not previously performed, and dance the Viennese Waltz as a group, then the couple with the lowest score, combined from the judges' scores and viewers' votes, is eliminated.
- Host Daryl Somers introduces us to the panel of judges - Todd McKenney, Helen Richey, Paul Mercurio and Mark Wilson - the orchestra, led by Chong Lim, co-host Sonia Kruger, and the four remaining couples, who would be performing one dance that they had not previously performed, and would also dance the Viennese Waltz as a group. He also informs the viewers that the voting lines are now closed.
The first couple on to the floor tonight were Home and Away actor Tim Campbell and his partner Natalie Lowe. They performed a sexy but classy Cha Cha that impressed the judges, the studio audience and the other couples. After Sonia interviewed them in the green room, the judges revealed their scores. They all scored her 9 out of a possible 10, for a total of 36 points.
Next were singer and musician Kate Ceberano, dressed in a royal blue frilled frock, and her partner John-Paul Collins, who performed an emotional and dramatic Tango, which was a dance that Kate was looking forward to doing - it was her main reason for signing up for the show. The couple's choreography and well-suited ballroom routine thrilled both the judges and the studio audience. Todd scored them 8, Helen 9, Paul 9 and Mark 9, for a total of 35 points.
Taking to the floor next were horticulturalist and TV presenter Jamie Durie and his partner Amanda Garner. Their slick Foxtrot brought an old-fashioned vibe to the ballroom. The judges were impressed by the improvement shown by the couple, and the serious attention that they had given during their rehearsal. All four judges scored them 8, for a total of 32 points.
The last couple to perform had had the most dramatic start to the day, with Fifi Box tumbling down the stairs during an earlier rehearsal and taking her partner Paul Green with her. After they had some X-rays to assess their injuries, the medical advisors gave them the all-clear to perform their Paso Doble, though Fifi took some painkillers before the performance and Paul modified their choreography. In spite of the changes, the judges were inspired by their remarkable choreography and gutsy effort. In the interview after the performance, Fifi said that she wished that her dance did not include so much stomping on her injured ankle. Todd scored them 8, Helen 8, Paul 8 and Mark 9, for a total of 33 points.
While the couples changed in preparation for their next dance, singer Dannii Minogue took to the stage for a live studio performance of her latest single, "He's The Greatest Dancer", a song that took its inspiration from the disco.
Then all four couples took to the floor again, dressed in costumes that transported us back to the royal palaces of 17th Century Europe, as they all danced the Viennese Waltz as a group, putting in an elegant effort.
After that, it was time to come back to the present as the couples faced the next elimination. The top two couples, according to the judges' scores and viewers' votes combined, were announced first, then the other couples faced another nail-biting moment before it was revealed that Jamie and Amanda were leaving the show tonight. As they took us out with a reprise of their earlier routine, Daryl informs the viewers that the voting lines are now open.
