The airplane Joyce and Murray are in is an Alaska Airlines Boeing 727 but is shown with a 2x3 seating layout. Both the 727 100 and 200 have a 3x3 layout. As the shot pans out you can see they are behind the wing so this is not in 1st Class. The external shot also shows that the over wing exit doors are missing as well as the under tail rear stairs.
Joyce and Murray fly to Alaska on Alaskan Airlines, and the aircraft is shown from the outside to be a 737. They are seated by themselves in a row with no other seats on their side of the plane. 737's use a 3 and 3 seat configuration.
On the flight to Alaska, Joyce is served a box meal. In the 1980's airlines still served hot meals on trays.
The light bars on the police cars are the MX700 made by Federal Signal. These lights bars weren't manufactured until 1989. Years after the events of this story.
The back of the magazine that Murray is reading on the plane is for MMA, its 1986 and that term was not used until 1993.
