Bust out the marmalade. Director Dougal Wilson, taking over for Paul King, unveiled the trailer for “Paddington in Peru,” the third entry in the wildly popular live-action-animation hybrid at a special event in London on Wednesday.
This new one brings back Ben Whishaw as the voice of the ursine hero, with Hugh Bonneville returning as the bear’s London father figure Mr. Brown.
New to the cast is Antonio Banderas as a swashbuckling sea captain and Oscar-winner Olivia Colman as a nun. Anyway, the Brown family heads to his native land of Peru (as per the title) ostensibly to visit Paddington’s Aunt Lucy at the Home for Retired Bears. But when they get there they discover she’s gone on some kind of walkabout, and have to go into the jungle to find her. Hijinks ensue.
The “Paddington” series has a worldwide gross of $500 million and made a serious imprint on wider culture.

There's no such thing as a "perfect" movie, but "Paddington 2" comes pretty darn close. Writer/director Paul King's sequel to his original, itself a damn fine film too, was the best reviewed movie of all time on Rotten Tomatoes for a while, right up until someone who may or may not be the Brown family's boot-licking, prejudiced neighbor Mr. Curry (Peter Capaldi) in disguise decided to change that. Since there's no use wasting a hard stare on them, let's turn our attention to what's on the horizon — namely, "Paddington in Peru," the third entry in the live-action film series inspired by Michael Bond's cherished literary character.
Since King was preoccupied with last year's "Wonka" movie musical (finally dealing with that itch he started to scratch with the enchanting mid-credits jailhouse song-and-dance number from "Paddington 2"), directing duties on "Paddington in Peru" fell to seasoned music video helmer...

In the intro, the beloved bear is preparing for his travels in a photo booth in order to take a picture for his passport. Unfortunately, the instructions are a little too confusing for him.

All your favourites are back – but there are a few changes here. Check out the trailer here:

Olivia Coleman plays a guitar-wielding nun in our first look at the third Paddington film. Check out the Paddington In Peru trailer below:
If you didn’t have “Olivia Coleman does The Sound Of Music” on your Paddington In Peru bingo card, have you even been paying attention?
Paul King’s first two installments owed a lot to the London-based Mary Poppins, so it only makes sense that the franchise’s first extended trip outside an urban metropolis would owe a debt to another 60s musical classic.
The already stacked cast from the first two is swelled by newcomers Olivia Coleman and Antonio Banderas alongside Emily Mortimer, who’s taking over Sally Hawkins’ role of Mrs Brown. The plot sees Paddington and the Browns taking a trip to (hold onto your hats) Peru to visit Imelda Staunton’s Aunt Lucy – a journey which apparently takes an unexpected detour through a...

The state of television consistently shifts, and even now, shows become unlikely hits overnight. A series like Baby Reindeer does not seem like a barn burner on its face, yet it defined the months of April and May for Netflix. An appetite is growing for international shows, and Hapless joins the trend of British shows coming stateside. With the release of Hapless on Peacock, showrunner, creator, and director Gary Sinyor sat down with Fandomwire to discuss the comedy series. Along the way, we discussed its roots, his background when approaching the show, and his push to make more Hapless in the future.

Sinyor had helmed several movies and episodes of television before kicking off Hapless. Sinyor explains, “I think the biggest difference isn’t necessarily between TV and film, but between working with a large crew or working with a very tight small crew. And I...

The new financing will allow Anton to expand its feature film and television series development and production slate as it embarks on a significant phase of growth.
Led by founder and CEO Sébastien Raybaud, Anton now plans to produce 10 features per year, focussing on large-scale commercial European English-language projects in the genre space for a global audience. The company is currently in production on “Greenland 2,” starring Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin and the sequel to 2020 survival thriller hit.

Deadline’s Most Valuable Blockbuster tournament is back. While studios during Covid wildly embraced the theatrical day-and-date model when cinemas were closed, they soon realized there’s nothing more profitable than a theatrical release and the downstreams that come with it. If anything, theatrical is the advertisement for a movie’s longevity in subsequent home entertainment windows. Entering the conversation in 2023 were the streamers, such as Apple, who have also realized the necessity of theatrical to eventize their movies. The financial data pulled together here for Deadline’s Most Valuable Blockbuster Tournament is culled by seasoned and trusted sources.

Noted talk-show host Jimmy Fallon would have had a completely different life if he had picked up on a hint years ago. The SNL alum was reportedly blindsided when actress Nicole Kidman brought up a ‘date’ they had back when she was single after her divorce from Tom Cruise. Fallon reportedly did not know that it was a date.
The talk-show host later revealed that he was extremely embarrassed by the revelation, which came after Kidman married country rockstar Keith Urban. Fallon also revealed that in the years since Kidman’s confession, the crush has become a running joke between the three and has even led Fallon to prank Kidman.

There are few stars of his age who generate as much foaming at the mouth celebrity obsession as Timothée Chalamet. Ever since the one-two punch of “Lady Bird” and “Call Me By Your Name” arrived in 2017, the young actor has been the darling of social media fan accounts fawning over his signature long black hair and delicate, porcelain features. It’s made him the archetypal onscreen heartthrob of his generation and garnered him those pesky Leonardo DiCaprio comparisons that have lingered over the course of his career.
Does that online thirst translate into being a movie star? That’s a question that various outlets have tried to unpack over the course of Chalamet’s career with varying degrees of success. He certainly has the chops for it: beyond his pretty, pretty face, Chalamet has a sensitive onscreen presence that can be played straight — as in “Call Me By Your Name,...

Director Paul King is best known for delivering the first two installments of the charming and delightful "Paddington" franchise. Sadly, he won't be at the helm of "Paddington in Peru," the forthcoming third film in the series, but that's because he opted to step into the sweet world of Roald Dahl with "Wonka." The origin story of the famed chocolatier from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" has become one of the biggest box office hits of 2023, and King is already working on potential ideas for a "Wonka" sequel. But 20 years ago, Paul King was just a scrappy young filmmaker cutting his teeth on a cult favorite comedy series across the pond.

Before "Wonka" became a box office hit, director Paul King had already carved out plenty of success with the critically acclaimed "Paddington" movies. Based on the beloved series of children's books, "Paddington" and "Paddington 2" are full of delightful, family-friendly humor and big beating hearts that push a wealth of kindness into the world (and they also politely take down British colonialism and xenophobia). While "Paddington" stands with a stellar 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, "Paddington 2" somehow managed to surpass the original and currently sits with a 99% critical rating. That love for the charming sequel was so overwhelming that it seeped into an unlikely project: a Nicolas Cage movie.

After arriving on the big screen just in time to take advantage of the holiday box office rush last year, "Wonka" is a certified hit. Not only did the movie from "Paddington" director Paul King please critics and audiences alike, but it's raked in over $608 million at the worldwide box office. In fact, it has managed to stay in the top 10 box office chart this whole time. Even as the movie is available on PVOD at home and poised to hit physical media on February 27, "Wonka" is still playing on over 2,300 screens.
Considering the star power of leading man Timothée Chalamet and that kind of financial success, it's likely that a "Wonka" sequel will end up in theaters sometime in the next few years. Steven Moffat began working on his new limited series “Douglas Is Cancelled” in 2018, before most people — Moffat included — had even heard of the term “cancel culture.”
It was only later he realized his story — about a distinguished news anchor whose life is turned upside down when an unguarded comment goes viral — exemplified it.
“At the time I wrote this, I wouldn’t have known the expression,” the screenwriter, best known for his work on fan favorites “Sherlock” and “Doctor Who,” tells Variety. “Obviously, [once I did] I co-opted it straight into the title.”
The show follows the misadventures of Douglas Bellowes, played by Hugh Bonneville of “Paddington” and “Downton Abbey” fame. After a rare verbal misstep at a wedding spirals out of control, he finds himself scrambling to salvage both his personal and professional lives. Karen Gillan (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) also stars as Douglas’ ambitious and internet-savvy co-host Madeline.

Making his way through indie cinema, Timothee Chalamet has grown to be a shining Hollywood star. His growth as an actor and as a celebrity has been exponential. For his performance in Call Me By Your Name, Chalamet won a nomination for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Critics’ Choice Movie Award, all for the Best Actor category. And that too at the age of twenty-two.
With his latest release, the New York-born star has achieved something so magnificent, which many barely dream of achieving. Dune 2 has surpassed The Dark Knight by breaking a record. The Dark Knight is famously the reason Chalamet became an actor.

“Wonka” will make its streaming debut exclusively on Max on Friday, March 8, Warner Bros. Discovery announced Friday.
The movie — featuring Chalamet in the title role — tells the origin story of Willy Wonka, following him as a young man as he becomes “the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker,” per the studio. The family film co-stars Olivia Colman, Keegan-Michael Key and Hugh Grant as an Oompa-Loompa.
“Wonka” has surpassed $600 million at the global box office, on an estimated $125 million budget. Warner Bros has dated Mickey 17 for Jan. 31, 2025 — a very odd date for a highly anticipated follow-up from Oscar and Cannes Palme d’Or winning Parasite filmmaker Bong Joon-ho.
What’s key about the date is that Warner Bros will have Imax, furthermore next January is starving for wide releases. But the reason why the studio went with this date is to play off Lunar New Year in South Korea.
The title is a major part of Warner Bros.’ CinemaCon presentation this year.
Originally, Mickey 17 was to go on March 29, shortly after Dune: Part Two this year but the strikes pushed the movie. We kept hearing it wasn’t ready. Still that didn’t stop everyone from panting that the sci-fi feature could hit Cannes. There were never any plans for the movie to go to Cannes.
While a Jan. 31 theatrical release indicates this movie likely won’t be...
