Much like the 5th episode of the previous season, this one is arguably the 'departure from the main story' one of this season, again with more direct allusions to the original Kung Fu TV series than otherwise, and indeed more homages to Bruce Lee himself. Including, but not limited to::
- Ah Sahm's sardonic "Something like that" quip to Elijah Rooker about Gung Fu being the "fighting style of the monks", alluding to how in the original Kung Fu show the main character had been changed from Bruce Lee's initial vision to a Shaolin Monk
- The concept of the hand-to-hand fight tournament as there were hardly any decent flicks in the Kung Fu craze of the early 70's without one, such as Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon (1973)
- The claw-shaped scratch marks on Ah Sahm's chest, perhaps the biggest direct tribute to Bruce Lee on this show this far, referencing one of his most iconic image (from that same film)
The character, Dolf, is played by former UFC middleweight champion Micheal Bisping.
Christos Vasilopoulos plays the right-hand enforcer of the local crime boss. He played a nearly identical character named Olek in multiple episodes of "Banshee", the previous series created and written by Jonathan Tropper.
