Max is homeless, and turns to Tom for help, he gets an unexpected, warm welcome from Mrs Giles. Max's life gets even better when he meets the lovely Claire.
I found this very funny, I'm not sure many would say that 1987 was a vintage year for comedy, I didn't expect much from this, but it is proving to be very, very funny. The scene where Max is confronted by Claire's well meaning, but slightly scatty mother is side splitting, very funny.
Of course Max and Tom are both very funny characters, and the actors have terrific timing, but this series really does come to life when Mrs Giles appears, Liz Smith is hilarious.
Loving it, 8/10.
