Jonathan Majors has been dropped by Marvel and his character, Kang the Conqueror, will either be recast or written out of the franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The decision follows Majors’ conviction of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment on Monday.
Majors portrayed Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, a character established as the primary antagonist for the current Multiverse Saga, much like Thanos was the keystone villain of the previous Infinity Saga. Majors debuted as a “variant” of Kang called He Who Remains in Season 1 of the Disney+ series Loki, returning in this year’s Season 2 as another variant named Victor Timely. He also starred in this year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as the Kang the Conqueror variant, as well as the dozens of other variants in The Council of Kangs mid-credits scene.

A John Krasinski-produced movie about a fugitive billionaire has found its director in Peter Landesman.
Sources tell Variety that the “Concussion” writer-helmer is on board to direct the long-gestating movie, which is based on Daniel Ammann’s biography “The King of Oil: The Secret Lives of Marc Rich.” The film tells the story of the international commodities trader and founder of Glencore, who was indicted in the U.S. on 65 criminal counts that included tax evasion, wire fraud, racketeering and striking deals for oil with Iran during the Iran hostage crisis.
Rich had already fled the U.S. for Switzerland and never returned, but famously received a pardon in 2001 from then President Bill Clinton on his last day in office. Rich lived in Switzerland until his death at age 78 in 2013. Matt Damon has been attached to play Rich, though his involvement is not currently known. The film was under Universal,...

Will Smith has been a professional movie star for three decades.
It’s a job that comes with a draining, all-consuming level of scrutiny, but Smith never really seemed to buckle under the weight of the exposure. On red carpets, he’d mug for cameras and seemed to feed off the energy of screaming fans. In interviews and late night appearances, he’d be down for anything, revealing a few intimate details while still maintaining enough of a barricade of privacy to keep his A-list status intact. In professional settings, at lunches and dinners with Oscar voters, Smith would work the room, making eye contact, remembering names, and grabbing shoulders and arms in shows of sincerity with a fluency that would put seasoned politicians to shame. He was the consummate celebrity.
So Smith’s violent outburst at Sunday’s Oscars was a shock to the fans who have loved him...

The 2022 Oscars were certainly one for the history books.
With multiple historic wins — “Coda” star Troy Kotsur becoming the first deaf man to win an acting award, and Jane Campion becoming the third woman to win Best Director, among others — and plenty of viral moments, the Academy Awards outdid themselves once again by becoming, well, undone.
As Jessica Chastain scooped up Best Actress for “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” and Ariana DeBose followed Rita Moreno’s historic footsteps and won for playing Anita in “West Side Story,” and Will Smith landed his first Oscar for “King Richard,” Hollywood’s biggest night was full of starry surprises.
And “Coda”‘s unprecedented Best Picture win cemented Apple TV+ as a cutting-edge streamer, with the platform becoming the first to take home the night’s top prize.
The film’s writer-director Sian Heder also won for Best Adapted Screenplay, and called “The Power of the Dog...

Get your wallets ready, PlayStation 4 owners: Sony’s latest sale for all owners of its soon-to-be-retired console is filled to bursting point with more games than you could possibly ever finish in a single lifetime. Okay, so there’s some obvious hyperbole there, but it’s certainly no exaggeration to say gamers are being spoiled for choice this time around, and thanks to some extremely competitive price points, there should be something here for all folks, regardless of budget.
If you’re looking to pick a title up for little more than the price of lunch, all of the following are currently on sale for less than $10 as part of so-called Double Discounts. The term, for those unaware, refers to an additional 50% reduction reserved exclusively for PlayStation Plus subscribers, so non-members will need to pay double for these.

Sony’s clearly feeling charitable as of late, as the company is currently running two massive, store-wide sales for all PlayStation 4 owners.
This time around, there’s no requirement for an active Ps Plus subscription in order to gain access to the impressive number of discounted games, though those who do have a recurring membership will, as usual, enjoy even further price cuts, as is the case with so-called Double Discounts. How it works is simple: any title included in the aforementioned promotion will be discounted by a certain amount (exact percentages differ on a case by case basis). If you have Ps Plus, the listed markdown is doubled, meaning, for example, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare‘s Digital Pro edition will be reduced from 35% off to a whopping 70%.
In addition to the above, a separate, more budget-focused batch of games are available for less than $20. Check out the lists...
