The Beatles only starred in four films together (not counting the animated Yellow Submarine which they didn’t even voice) yet two of them have been virtually impossible to see in any home viewing format for decades. A Hard Day’S Night and Help were both acclaimed successes with long histories of VHS and DVD releases but Let It Be, a 1970 documentary showing how the Beatles rehearsed in preparation for a new live tour, despite winning an Oscar for Original Song Score, has never been seen since its original theatrical release. Let It Be captured the Fab Four as they were in the process of breaking up, bickering and acting chilly to each other in a most un-Beatle-like fashion. The other “lost” Beatles film is the 1967 Magical Mystery Tour, a 53-minute psychedelic road trip first broadcast on the BBC. Magical Mystery Tour is now available on Blu-ray from Capitol Records...

Songs you’ll never forget, the film you’ve never seen, and a story that’s never been heard. In 1967, in the wake of the extraordinary impact of the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album and the One World satellite broadcast of All You Need Is Love, The Beatles devised, wrote, and directed their third film, Magical Mystery Tour, a dreamlike story of a coach day trip to the seaside. Apple Films has fully restored the long out-of-print, classic feature film for October 8th release worldwide (October 9th in North America) on DVD and Blu-ray with a remixed soundtrack (5.1 and stereo) and special features. For the first time ever, there will be a limited theatrical release in certain territories from September 27th.
Magical Mystery Tour will be available in DVD and Blu-ray packages, and in a special 10″x10″ boxed deluxe edition. The deluxe edition includes both the DVD and Blu-ray,...

Ever watch "American Idol" and think, "You know, I like watching amateurs perform, but I wish I could watch them sing four seconds of a Beatles song surrounded by oversized props on a hydraulic-enhanced stage"? Well, Wednesday night's (February 23) new Vegas round episode was just for you.
It was supposed to be a full two hours of people saying they've never heard of the Beatles, Steven Tyler waxing poetically about living in "Beatle Land" and awkward Seacrest interviews set in a makeshift Coca-Cola/Ford room that got integrated marketing execs horny. But then Jennifer Lopez had to go and have a meltdown when she told Chris Medina that he wasn't good enough to be on the show and producers said, "Eh, let's chop out that boring Vegas singing part. Who watches 'Idol' for the music anyway?"
Perhaps that's why the Vegas-set half of Wednesday's super-sized episode often felt...

It was a tale of two telecasts tonight on American Idol. Act One found the sanctity of marriage getting punched in the kidney by a pair of craven fameosexuals (even worse than it sounds), a grizzled clairvoyant predicting the untimely death of a pair of wide-eyed teenage contestants (much funnier/more inspirational than it sounds), and Randy Jackson offering perhaps the worst advice of his 10-season Idol tenure (no small accomplishment, that). Act Two (aka The Jennifer Lopez Empathy Hour) was most notable for revealing five of the 24 season 10 semifinalists, ousting a contestant whose backstory was far more impressive than his singing voice,...

From the new judges to the new set, the new bandleader to the music itself, American Idol is getting some serious work done for its tenth season. “We’re going ahead with a whole fresh change,” Idol exec producer Ken Warwick says to EW exclusively, “simply because we never thought in our wildest dreams that any show would last ten years on American television.”
Contrary to recent web reports, however, the show will definitely not be introducing a new music video challenge. The idea had been floated as a possibility at one point, but exec producer Cécile Frot-Coutaz tells EW...

Thanks to Britney Spears, the "Glee" cast is now bigger than The Beatles.
Okay, we exaggerate, but the cast of Fox's musical show will surpass the legendary rock band on Thursday, Oct. 7 when they debut six new songs on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated for Oct. 16) from the "Britney/Brittany" episode, according to Billboard.
They will then officially be have the most non-solo acts in the chart's 52-year history. The Beatles have 71 charted titles, but once the new "Glee" songs are added, the cast's number will be upped to 75. The songs include "I'm a Slave 4U," "Me Against the Music," "Stronger," "Baby One More Time," "Toxic" and Paramore's "The Only Exception."
The "Glee" cast also has the Beatles to thank for their new bragging rights. Their cover of "Hello Goodbye" is among those 75 songs. On the Tuesday, Oct. 5 episode, the character Kurt (Chris Colfer) also sang the Beatles' "I Want to Hold Your Hand,...

"Glee" has already produced two hit soundtracks and their latest Ep, "Glee: The Music, The Power of Madonna" could be this week's #1 seller. Now, the show is lining up the release of yet another compilation, "Glee: The Music, Volume 3 - Showstoppers."
There's no Madonna songs to be found here (those can all be purchased separately on the Ep) but the soundtrack does cover the rest of the songs from the show's first season, including a cover of The Beatles' "Hello Goodbye," Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart," and two recent Lady Gaga hits, "Poker Face" and "Bad Romance."
The soundtracks will be available in standard and deluxe editions. The deluxe edition features six more tracks than the standard edition, including "Home" featuring Kristin Chenoweth, who returns to reprise her role as April in the season.

We had our box of tissues ready for this very last installment of one our favorite shows - Ugly Betty. Like they say, all good things must come to an end, and yes, Betty is in fact history!
Overall, "Hello Goodbye" did wrap up each of our beloved characters lives in a nice pretty bow, but how bummed were you that there wasn't even a kiss between Daniel and Betty!? They literally waited until the last 40 seconds to show him go to London for her!
At least we can say we were right about that!
But, C'Mon! We wanted More! We wanted the dramatically romantic ending where Daniel sweeps Betty off of her feet professing his love to her in front of all her new British friends and giving her a kiss that gives hope to all the ugly Betties of the world that you can get the dream guy.

In the end, Betty chose ... nobody. Instead, she moved to London for a great new job opportunity, where she not so coincidentally ran into Daniel, who had recently relinquished the editorship of Mode to Wilhelmina. Betty and Daniel agreed to have dinner together, but... is it a date?
Though that distinction is left intentionally ambiguous, elsewhere in the world of Ugly Betty, there was plenty of closure. Marc made his feelings known to Troy. On Marc's urging, Willy decided that true love trumped schemes and called a truce with Claire. Amanda found her birth father. Ignacio learned to let his daughters live their lives, which included Hilda, Justin and Bobby moving out of the family house in Queens and over the bridge into Manhattan.

Before we ever get into last night's Glee music, it's worth repeating:
If you haven't yet watched Jane Lynch's incredible cover of "Vogue," or feel an understandable urge to do so again, stop whatever you're doing and take this four-minute break. It's well worth it.
That vido aired after "Hell-o" concluded, of course, but there were plenty of performances to appreciate during the actual episode itself, too.
For example: even if you don't trust Jesse St. James, it's hard not to appreciate his duet with Rachel, the audio of which is below:

So it has come to this. Tonight marks the end of Ugly Betty, as all of the series' four seasons culminates to five legendary words spoken by Daniel. You can hear those on the trailer below, but for now let's dissect Betty's very own "Hello Goodbye."

On tonight's finale, we come to the end of the past to begin Betty's future. But we won't really get to see that, so let's stick to the happy thoughts. We'll be seeing a lot of familiar faces and old friends on Ugly Betty tonight, as alums return to bid adios to our heroine.

Glee is back! Let the celebration begins! Or at least break out the alcohol for our beloved shot game. You remember that, don't you? I mean, I know it's been a while but we take a shot every time someone does something out of character, there's a plot hole big enough to sail the Lusitania through, or something happens that would never, ever happen in real life. So ... we take a shot about every 4.5 seconds, with breaks for commercials and rehab treatment.
I have to admit, I was a little disappointed by the first episode back from hiatus. Or whatever they called that four month break since our last new offering. The official title of this episode was "Hell-o" but it really should have been: "Same song, second verse, same as the first." It was literally the same storylines as the first half of the season. This is your last chance to watch a new episode of Ugly Betty ever! Tune in Wednesday night to see how it all goes down.
Producer Sheila Lawrence was quoted saying: "Every character ends up in a good place — this is Ugly Betty after all. Amanda has a question answered that's been looming since Season 2, Justin has a dream come true, and Wilhelmina quite possibly has the happiest ending of all."
So it looks like Wilhelmina is not dead! Thank goodness!
Also, we learn that Betty is reluctant to tell Daniel about her future. Meanwhile Justin and Bobby go searching for a new place to live and Hilda is not too happy about it. And poor Marc feels like he is destined to be alone forever.
Don't forget to tune in this Wednesday night at 10pm on ABC to say good-bye to our beloved Ugly Betty!

April 14 will mark the end of "Ugly Betty" four-year run. The comedy show has been canceled by ABC due to decrease in rating and will wrap it up in the episode "Hello Goodbye", the preview of which has come out.
It's the end of an era, but the beginning, Betty hopes, of something wonderful. In the award-winning series' finale, which also features appearances by familiar faces from the past, Betty finds it hard to tell Daniel important news about her future. When she does, his reaction surprises her, but not Claire.
Justin and Bobby enthusiastically consider taking advantage of a softening real estate market by apartment-hunting in Manhattan, but Hilda's resisting even the most amazing places. Amanda grapples with the death of her dog, Halston, and Marc wonders if he'll ever have a successful relationship.

During their panel at 27th Annual PaleyFest, cast and producers of "Glee" shared a lot of interesting facts that are part of future episodes. Already securing a Madonna-centric episode, the show will have another tribute episode which uses at least one song by Lady GaGa. Creator Ryan Murphy said they approached the singer and she said "Yes, I love the show". The episode will be about the "value of theatricality," Murphy added.
Having it easy with GaGa, the show had difficulty acquiring songs from some other artists like Coldplay and Bryan Adams. Nevertheless, they have achieved above the standard with songs from the catalogs of The Rolling Stones, Lionel Richie, Neil Diamond, The Beatles, Bette Middler, and The Doors.

Is it wrong that I almost got misty-eyed while watching this teaser for the return of Glee? I didn't think so. After all, it's been months since we've had a new episode of the Fox series and I am in desperate need for some choral music and Sue Sylvester bitchy one-liners! We still have many weeks to go before Glee returns on April 13 but the new teaser (different from this one) at least gave us some music morsels. This year, voting members will have to cover 69 picks, and slim it down to a neat five nominations and among the titles worth mentioning that didn't receive a possibility at an Oscar nomination we have City Of Life And Death and Lebanon. Unfortunately, even this list is imperfect as there is no mention of titles that were big with critics such as Women Without Men, I am Love, Hadewijch. - The Golden Globes do things a little differently than the Oscars when it comes time narrowing down the absolute best in foreign language cinema. The Hollywood Foreign press do without the politics of one film per country quota, which is great when a smaller nation has a stellar year with at least two worthwhile mentions, and just makes sense for the France film industry who on average, give several reasons to appreciate the 7th art. Wednesday 9th September saw the re-release of The Beatles classic albums. All have been digitally remastered and have been released in conjunction with the amazing Beatles rockband. Great fun and legendary tunes!

They were groundbreaking, talented and controversial. The youth loved them and the oldies were threatened by them. Girls wanted to bed them and guys wanted to be them. They sold records on an unprecedented scale and might have even been bigger than Jesus!
