- After a famous matador collapses during a mock bullfight with Sailor, his associates discover that he'd been stabbed earlier in the day and accuse Slate of killing him out of jealousy. Slate launches his own investigation and discovers that the lusty bullfighter was a married man who left a string of beautiful conquests in his wake - and an equally angry spouse.—David Bassler
- At a mock bullfight, a matador is seriously wounded. Sailor, blaming herself, is taken on a boat ride by Slate. When they return the matador's wife accuses Slate of having murdered her husband. Slate starts off on a search to find the real killer in order to vindicate himself. He is waylaid and beaten up by the matador's cuadrilla. Sailor nurses Slate and while she is doing so Manuel, part of the cuadrilla, offers Sailor the matador's cape and sword and supplies them with the knowledge that the matador's body is being shipped to Mexico City. They go to the dock to watch and say a silent farewell to the matador. They see a grieving girl whom Slate follows. At the girl's apartment, he finds the clue which points him toward the murderer and corners the killer before he can set sail for Mexico.
