Prior to being officially revealed by Capcom, the information and the promo video where leaked by different sources. The only difference in the Promo video that was leaked on Youtube, and the one Capcom later posted was that it listed the game for the PlayStation 4, whereas the official video would confirm its release on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC (for Steam) as well.
Like with the previous Zero collection Mega Man Zero Collection (2010), this collection will also a method of gameplay available which in this collection known as Casual Scenario Mode, which will function like Rookie Hunter Mode from Rockman X Anniversary Collection (2018) (VG) and Rockman X Anniversary Collection 2 (2018) (VG) to make gameplay easier for inexperienced players.
Originally this game was set for January 21 2020 (January 23 for Japan), but due to potential bugs, Capcom was forced to delay this game's release to February 25, 2020.
This is the first release for both the Mega Man Zero and ZX series to be released on non-Nintendo platforms. Previously they were released on the Gameboy Advance (for the Zero series, which were later re-released on the Wii U's Virtual Console) and Nintendo DS (for the ZX series and the Mega Man Zero Collection release).
