The original plan was to use CGI for only a handful of shots (specifically the exterior of the Man's apartment). During the expansion of the film, over 100 shots were added, expanding the scope of the film.
The film contains 2 minutes of footage from Mindfield, a short film directed by Daniel J. Fox while at film school. Luckily several costumes were still in existence, allowing extra shots to be filmed, incorporating the old footage.
The Cyborg puppet head was built during the films Christmas break 2006, based on an old shop mannequin. Facial movements such as eye blinks and mouth movement was created using 2D animation and by tracking live-action footage on top of the footage of the puppet.
The entire CGI cityscape was modeled and textured by Joseph A. Fox. Texture maps were made using hundreds of photographs of buildings around Liverpool.
The character of the Secretary was a late addition to the script and only added during the casting process. All the later scenes featuring the character were written in one afternoon and never altered or refined.
