- A boy tells a girl from his school that he "popped her under the jungle gym in the second grade".
- Detective Rush asks a woman what it's like to have sex with the man who murdered her child.
- Rush asks Dylan if murdering the three boys "got him off". Dylan responds with "you sure you wanna know what gets me off?" and stares at her.

- In the previous episode to this one, Detectives Rush and Stillman were shot and traumatized by it, although Rush won't admit this. The shooting is discussed throughout this episode and Stillman mentions that he wants Rush to see a psychologist.
- A wrongfully-convicted young man hangs himself in prison. His feet are seen twitching in mid-air after a shot of a noose is shown.
- A cop beats up and bullies a teenager into confessing to a murder he didn't do.
- The dead bodies of three small children are seen in an abandoned swimming pool, underneath a tarp. A man finds them, and in horror he slips in the mud and nearly falls on top of them.
- A psychotic man beats three kids to death with a flashlight. His shadow is visible, and the kids' screams are heard.
- A man mentions that as a child, his father abused him all the time by locking him in a dark basement for hours at a time.
- Men kick, punch and taunt two grunge kids after they leave a courthouse.
- A woman mentions that a bum was seen walking around in an industrial area of Fishtown, looking agitated and covered in blood.
- A stuffed husky dog is seen in a plastic police evidence bag, red from the blood it was covered with.
- A grieving mother finds a flashlight in the basement with blood dried to the front.
- A little boy has bruises all over him. His mom assumes it's from bike accidents.
- A teenage girl starts a rumor that a boy from her school told her, "we killed those brats, bashed their heads in. It was fun." She also mentions that Dylan and Teddy poured pig's blood from the gym balcony during a school assembly to protest the Rwanda Genocide.
- A boy during the intro scene tells his friends that his parents told him a kid got beat up really bad in Fishtown.
- Some verbal arguing.

- "bitch", "devil", "wuss", "creep", "freak", "weirdo", "psycho" and several similar phrases are said, most of which aren't swearing but just name-calling.
- A boy's friends tease him and ask him if he's going to "wee-wee in his diaper" because he's afraid of going to the abandoned swimming pool.
