Season one was originally scheduled to begin filming in March 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Filming was rescheduled for October 2020 and the show's creator, writer and star Rose Matafeo was asked to write a second season during the delay.
On Tuesday, 4 May 2021, Rose Matafeo revealed via Twitter that filming on the second season had commenced. Season two is expected to carry on the story from where the first season left off.
Rose Matafeo and Emma Sidi, who play flatmates Jessie and Kate, are also best friends and housemates in real life.
On Monday, 13th June 2022, BBC Three announced that in conjunction with HBO Max it has commissioned Avalon Television to produce a 6-episode third season of the popular comedy. The first two seasons have been watched via BBC iPlayer over 8.2 million times and the programme has premiered in more than 90 countries worldwide.
