Craig here, asking you all (on her 40th birthday): where is Uma at?
Ah, Uma. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. And despite actually being Tarantino's Bride twice last decade. What is it about Uma? She's widely known and adored by many, yet never seems to (quite) make it to the top of the A-list. The likes of Helen Hunt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Charlize Theron, Reese Witherspoon, Renée Zellweger, Jennifer Connelly, Angelina Jolie and Hilary Swank - all peers and contemporaries - have bagged themselves Oscars in the last thirteen-or-so years. The simple question is: where's Uma's gold?
She's one of the most uniquely beautiful actresses working, but nowadays, more so than in the early '90s, she doesn't often tend to get the recognition come awards season, or even appear on any of those Sexiest Hollywood Stars lists that crop up year-on-year anymore (although, is this really a fair...

London -- The U.K.'s most influential drama executive could be headed to Los Angeles.
BBC drama chief Jane Tranter is in talks to move stateside and spearhead a new BBC Worldwide West Coast drama production division in the new year.
Tranter, the executive who brought "Doctor Who," "Life on Mars," "Spooks" and "Cranford" to BBC screens, is understood to be in discussion with BBC bosses over the move, which would put her atop a new stateside production arm that would likely run the BBC commercial division's drama and entertainment operations.
The BBC declined comment on the move beyond pointing to a statement earlier this summer when Tranter said she had "no immediate plans to go and work in the U.S."
But while a move is unlikely before next year, negotiations are well advanced. Tranter is understood to have been offered a number of U.S. jobs, including a position at HBO,...

London -- Viewers may have been left in the lurch over whether he will return to screens here again as "Doctor Who," but actor David Tennant will take on a very different mantle when he plays a British astrophysicist in a new drama that will air on BBC2 this autumn.
In "Einstein and Eddington," due to hit screens in the fall, Tennant will play Arthur Eddington alongside Andy Serkis (the "Lord of the Rings" movies), who plays Albert Einstein in a drama that explores the relationship between two pioneering scientists, one British and one German, against the political backdrop of Europe on the brink of World War I.
Other upcoming highlights include "My Zinc Bed," an adaptation of David Hare's drama about drug addiction, which stars Uma Thurman and Jonathan Pryce.
In "Fallen," the network will commemorate the lives of British servicemen and women who died serving in Iraq and Afghanistan in an epic three-hour documentary that examines their lives and the impact their death has made on their families and friends.
Factual highlights include "Oceans," exploring underwater archaeology, geology, marine biology and anthropology, while "WWII -- Behind Closed Doors" looks at the relationships Joseph Stalin and the leaders of the Western allies. BBC2's main acquisition "Heroes" will return for Season 3.
