Was originally a Kickstarter project that launched on July 18, 2012. It had a goal of $110,000 but made $136,723 in total with 3,562 backers. The estimated delivery was supposed to be in February 2013, but suffered through multiple production delays, and after August 5, 2017, it still remained unreleased with no updates until May 27, 2019, when John Kricfalusi released the DVD on his website for sale. A month after the DVD's release, the Short was released online.
Michael Pataki's final role; he had mostly completed his voice work before his death on April 15, 2010. The short is dedicated to his memory.
Based on the childhood of John Kricfalusi, as his father Michael C. Kricfalusi usually tried to save money by buying label-less cans or cheaper products.
It's been widely stated that Michael Pataki finished his voice work as George Liquor before his death, however John Kricfalusi filled in on certain lines. He takes over the role around 8 minutes and 28 seconds in. This stems from Kricfalusi taking over as the character's voice for TV spots and advertisements following Pataki's death. An example of Kricfalusi recording his lines for George Liquor can be seen here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG2p3GuuzjU
It was thought to have been cancelled originally, due to there being no Kickstarter updates since August 2017, as well as allegations of sexual abuse against John Kricfalusi reported on in early 2018. However, it was officially released on DVD finished on May 27, 2019, on John Kricfalusi's website.
