Actor Emraan Hashmi, whose film Mumbai Saga is currently running at the box office, has a slew of films coming out. The actor has three very different films in his kitty at the moment. While he is committed to Chehre and Ezra, the actor is yet to confirm playing the villain in Tiger 3. He says he seems to have finally got rid of the "Serial Kisser" tag.
"I haven't done those films for a bit. People don't address me that way anymore. I have never really thought of how people think of me. It's as per the film, I have never thought of how people perceive me," informed Emraan.
The actor, however, says that he has never bothered trying to change people's perception.
"It's up to people to think how they want to think. I can't catch people by the throat and force them to look at me in a certain way.

As predicted, Roadshow’s The Dry has crossed the $20 million mark.
This means the Robert Connolly film, based on Jane Harper’s best selling novel, is now the 14th highest grossing Australian film of all time, surpassing titles such as The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Muriel’s Wedding and The Dish (not adjusting for inflation).
And the mystery drama is likely to still have life in it, with star and producer Eric Bana doing a set of Q&As screenings this week.
“The astounding success of The Dry confirms what Roadshow has always known, that there will always be an appetite for quality Australian productions which can without a doubt rival their Hollywood counterparts at the box office,” said Roadshow Films CEO Joel Pearlman.
“We will continue working with local industry and our partners in exhibition to deliver these crowd favourites to the big screen.”

Actor Rohit Roy returns to the big screen in the action drama "Mumbai Saga", which hits theatres on Friday. He loves doing high-octane action roles but asserts that he won't stick to just that genre.
"There is a soft spot for action in me because male actors always want to do action films. But I don't see myself doing just that. For me it's important that the action or thriller film I am a part of has a story behind it and my character moves that story. Mindless action is not a genre I see myself fitting into. For me, be it 'Shootout At Lokhandwala' or 'Kaabil' there has to be a story in between action," Rohit informs.
Rohit is fond of "Mumbai Saga" director Sanjay Gupta. The filmmaker has earlier directed Rohit in "Kaabil", and he also writer-producer of "Shootout At Lokhandwala".

Known for his high-octane action films, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta said he has never thought of making content for Ott. Sanjay, who is all set to release his John Abraham-Emraan Hashmi starrer Mumbai Saga, asserted his films are only made for the big screen.
"I do not work on Ott. I am not even looking at the platform. My focus has been the big screen and on what will appeal to people sitting in a closed environment, on people who make an effort to go to watch the film," he informed.
For Sanjay Gupta, shooting Mumbai Saga has been quite an adventure for him due to the pandemic. "This has been an experience unlike any in my entire career. There has been a lot of uncertainty. At one point of time, it was like a life-and-death situation as there were portions to be shot and the pandemic had peaked.

There seems to be some positive development for the exhibition trade, as some filmmakers are venturing to release their films at the cinema halls. Last year, due to Corona, some of the best release slots were lost. Since then, neither filmmakers nor viewers have come forward to take in a movie at a cinema hall.
Not that any film released since lockdown in cinema halls was withdrawn -- albeit with restrictions -- had what is called face value or promotion. The few films that managed to release were not worth one's while even during normal situation, least of all in Corona time.
Since the cinemas reopened in September last year, films like "Khali Peeli", "Bolo Hau", "Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari", "Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi", "12 'O' Clock", "Madam Chief Minister", "Kaagaz", "Indoo Ki Jawani", "Amma Ki Boli" and a few other such films released in cinema halls. They had...

Mumbai, March 11 (Ians) Singer-composer Payal Dev reveals she used live instruments to record her new composition "Danka baja" in the upcoming film "Mumbai Saga".
"Given the grand scale of ‘Mumbai Saga', it was quite interesting to compose a festive song, something I have not done before for a movie. Initially I composed the hookline and we worked on the production. Once the track was ready, we reached out to (lyricist) Prashant Ingole and (singer) Dev Negi to record the song," said Payal.
The idea of using live instrument to record the song, as it was done in days of yore, helped because of the festive spirit of the song.
"Music producer Aditya Dev made sure that we used live instruments that are usually used to create the Ganpati vibe and authenticity to the song to make it sound grand," Payal said.
She is looking forward to the release of "Mumbai Saga" in theatres.

Mumbai, Feb 25: Bollywood experienced a lull last year with hardly any film getting a theatrical release owing to the complete closure of cinemas. With business opening up, many films are ready to release and raring to go. The inevitable, of course, is happening with a slew of films announcing release dates. In an overcrowded market, multiple Fridays this year will see box office clash between two films.
"These sort of clashes should not happen, especially at this time. As it is, business is slow. People are not coming to the theatres in big numbers and the situation is not all that profitable. At this point of time, we cannot afford clashes," says trade analyst Atul Mohan.
He adds that if producers only keep eyeing festive or strategic dates for release, such clashes are bound to happen and, what's more, their films might not end up doing as well as...

Of late, there have been some extensive debates, conversations (and unfortunately) arguments too over the whole insider v/s outsider phenomenon. While this could well be true for any industry, it gets noticed the most in Bollywood due to the glamour quotient involved with it. There are some insiders who are successful but then there are also outsiders, who have made Bollywood their home.
Three such major stars who have been successful in making that happen for them are Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and John Abraham.
Shah Rukh Khan’s story is what legends are made of, Akshay Kumar has been an epitome of hard work while John Abraham has been all about making his choices count. While Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar’s story goes three decades back in time, even John Abraham has been consistency personified, what with an initial struggle that goes more than two decades back.
