Doris extends an invitation to her single co-workers to spend the holidays at Buck's farm, but they have already made plans. Later, Doris tries to maintain order when the office party begins to get out of hand.
THE DORIS DAY SHOW produced three Xmas episodes during its run, and this is the best of the bunch. The supporting cast during this era was the best of the many different incarnations and this story is the funniest. Also, Doris looked fab in Season 2 wearing the long blonde fall.
There is a small amusing moment when Myrna pauses under the mistletoe in hopes Mr. Harvey will steal a kiss (same thing Sally Rogers would have done). Mr. Harvey's Xmas gift to Myrna is a dictionary (because of all her spelling mistakes). Later, when she's had her fill of "Ron Harvey's Special Spirits" at the punch bowl, she does a Jimmy Durante imitation (just like Sally Rogers often did) and drunkenly roasts the bosses.
When Mr. Harvey is emboldened by booze and starts to tell off Mr. Nicholson, Doris comes to the rescue and pulls Mr. Nicholson away to dance to a soundalike version of Tommy Roe's DIZZY.
The remainder of the episode is more low-key but this is still a fun one to watch every few years. 7/10.
