Tolo Tolo (2020) is the film with the highest grossing in the first 24 hours of its release in cinemas in Italy, with 8.7 million euros collected and a total of 1.174.285 spectators. The previous record was held by the previous Checco Zalone film, Quo vado? (2016), with 7.3 million euros collected.
On the occasion of the release of Tolo Tolo, on 6 December 2019 the music video of the song Immigrato was released; it recalls the famous song L'italiano by Toto Cutugno
Unusually for a major commercial release, no proper trailer was made for this film. Instead, the one promotional clip released before the film's theatrical debut was a music video satirizing Italy's attitude towards immigrants. Additionally, there was no official synopsis prior to opening day.
The official trailer is not taken from the movie, and has nothing to do with it.
