Zachary Levi brings Harold out of his picture book and into the real world in the first film adaptation of the children’s classic, “Harold and the Purple Crayon.”
Starring alongside Zooey Deschanel, the two show that anything is possible with the power of unlimited imagination and a magical crayon, but in the wrong hands chaos can ensue.
“When I saw the script, I loved the idea of Harold getting out of his comfort zone, going into the real world, and embarking on an adventure with innocence and wide-eyed naivete,” Levi said. “That quest for answers is a driving force for him.”
The film will feature a wide array of song selections with some childhood tunes like “Mary Had a Little Lamb” and “Chopsticks” and an original song, “Colors.”

Netflix released lists of its most popular content in Japan, Korea, India and Malaysia on Monday, showing that a mix of American shows and local language content best captured hearts and eyeballs in Asia this year — with Michael Bay’s “6 Underground” the only title that proved a top hit in all territories.
Netflix said the most-watched lists had been made by tallying the number of accounts that had streamed at least two minutes of the content in question during its first 28 days on the platform in 2019.
In Japan, five out of ten of the top ten works of the year are Netflix originals. Three are animated, while a fourth is a live-action adaptation of an anime. The top-viewed content was the semi-biographical live-action Japanese-language series “The Naked Director,” which chronicles Japan’s porn industry in the 1980s through the story of real-life, controversial adult video director Toru Muranishi, played by Takayuki Yamada.

Actor Abhay Deol, who has made his digital debut with "Chopsticks", feels censorship on the over-the-top (Ott) platforms would be a "futile exercise". He finds it baffling how sexuality is considered more offensive than violence as far as the Ott content is concerned.
In May, the a three-judge Bench of the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Centre while hearing a petition seeking framing of guidelines to regulate the functioning of online media streaming platforms, like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
Asked about censorship on digital platforms, Abhay told the publication, "It's a futile exercise. If you have to be thorough in censoring content, you would have to censor the Internet. What you get to see in our films, you can see far worse than that online. If you see a naked woman's body in a film, you can see pornography too."

Filmmakers and artistes, who felt restricted by the censorship rules, found the over-the-top (Ott) platforms as a way to express themselves freely. But they are now concerned about moves to regulate this medium too and argue that instead of putting curbs, there should 'age-based' certification.
Their concerns stem from the Supreme Court's recent direction to the Centre to regulate the content featured on Ott media platforms, where shows and films on are often laced with nudity, violence and strong language.
Filmmaker Sachin Yardi, who jumped into the web space bandwagon with "Chopsticks", lauded the digital space for the freedom it gives to artistes and is against censorship on the digital medium.
"Everyone has his own individual idea of what censorship should be and I have mine. At the very core of all of this, we shouldn't undermine the intelligence of people at large and that it is crucial," Yardi told the publication.

There's an intrinsic verve that Mithila Palkar brings alive with 'little things' she does when she faces the camera. The actress, who will soon be seen in "Chopsticks", says she is focussed on being a better artist every day, rather than chasing the stardom that entices many into the world of showbiz.
"Chopsticks", in which Mithila has Abhay Deol and a goat as co-stars, is touted as Netflix's first Indian original film. Naturally, she is excited.
