In the latest sign of difficulty for niche streaming, Warner Bros. Discovery is shifting programming from its MotorTrend+ streaming service onto Max and Discovery+ and will shut down the auto enthusiast subscription offering.
The programming changes take effect today, with 1,000 hours of MotorTrend programming moving to Discovery+ in the U.S. and Canada and Max in the U.S. Thousands of additional hours will be “continually added” to the larger company streamers through the end of March, according to an official announcement, at which point MotorTrend+ will cease to operate. News, reviews and shopping tools from the digital outlet will be available for free on various mobile apps and websites, the company said.
The majority of current MotorTrend+ subscribers paying $6 a month will be migrated to the ad-free tier of Discovery+, which costs the same amount, by the end of March. In addition to MotorTrend fare, Discovery+ has tens of thousands of hours from Magnolia,...

For more than 20 years, Rob Corddry has built a solid career out of making people laugh. Although he’s made it look effortless, the truth is that he’s put a lot of work into honing his skills and establishing himself in the business. People will likely recognize Rob best from his roles in Ballers, Children’s Hospital, and The Unicorn. He is also the host of Top Gear America. While there’s no denying the fact that he’s hilarious Rob can do more than make people laugh and he’s consistently proven that over the course of his career. Even though he’s already

Exclusive: Top Gear’s latest American incarnation has safely wrapped production ahead of its debut on Discovery’s MotorTrend.
Deadline understands that the show, which is based on the long-running British format, finished filming its debut season at the end of August after shooting over the summer.
The show, which is produced by BBC Studios’ Los Angeles production division, managed this by driving off with a slew of Covid-friendly protocols.
It comes as the show was originally intended to air in the spring, having been unveiled by Discovery’s motoring streamer at the end of last year.
The show filmed primarily in remote areas in the western half of the country, and to avoid potential travel exposure from commercial flights, the series only filmed at locations that were drivable by car from Southern California.
Personnel, including hosts Dax Shepard, Rob Corddry and Jethro Bovingdon, wore face masks when not on...
