Under Fire is the last of the remake of the lost episodes. It gives the actors a chance to do slapstick but I did not think it was the strongest of the three.
Frazer and Godfrey spot a house where a torchlight is being shined during a raid. It looks like someone might be signalling to the enemy.
When Captain Mainwaring investigates further, the man in the house is a heavy accented Austrian with a dog called Fritz. He claims to be British and he changed his surname to Murphy.
Mainwaring is suspicious and takes him to the church hall where a fire breaks out. The platoon has difficulty in setting it out until Mrs Pike arrives.
Kevin Eldon seems to be having fun as Jones messing up with the buckets of water. He also got to do the 'Don't Panic' line.
Tracy Ann Oberman is introduced as Mrs Pike, she gets the voice very much spot on. It would had been nice if the actor playing Warden Hodges reminded me more of Bill Pertwee.
This was more of a silly frivolous episode leaving both Murphy and Wilson to wonder if Britain would ever win the war.
Overall the remakes were very successful, the production was enjoyable. Out of the main cast, only the actor playing Pike was a disappointment. He looked too old.
