Another group of campers have left Camp Runamuck, leaving behind a voodoo doll resembling Wivenhoe. The practical jokers have also "boobytrapped" the camp. The girls accuse Wivenhoe of messing up their phone lines, leading to the sheriff to try and make peace. When Mahala May tries to pick up the phone at Camp Runamuck she is electrocuted. It's a result of the boys' vicious pranks, but Wivenhoe is blamed and the girls leave mad. Upset (agitating the whistle chronically lodged in his sternum), Wivenhoe storms to his tent with the front comically falling down- another victim of the boys' pranks. The girls are even more angered when the men pretend Cary Grant is at camp, and they vow never to return. Malden picks wild mushrooms to make a soufflé. Pruett becomes sick after eating it and he and the men fear he has been poisoned. With Doc away, the men read through books to treat toadstool poisoning. When they realize they ate them too, they take preventive measures as they slowly deteriorate. They feel their only chance is to have the girls care for them, but can't manage a way to reach them. When the men unknowingly knock out Pruett with the door they think he's died and wait to be next. They decide they have some things they'd like to do before they pass on, with disastrous results.
The plot is a little disjointed to start, but the ending is comical.
