I feel this episode was a filler, not a main for the sequence of events. Too much about Mary & Lilleth. Let's hope the next episode picks up the pace.

Some parts were weak here but it was okay

Warning: Spoilers
Ava went with homeboy while she is running away from Mary and Lilith. Makes sense she would do that I mean if you were suddenly given a responsibility that will cost you your life and you have to do this for the people you don't even know yet, of course, you will choose to runaway. I was expecting more action on the death scene of Lilith but I think she was stabbed accidently. And also it makes sense that they don't know how to fight that tarask it's not like you can shoot it or even stab it to death. Hoping to see how Ava would defeat this tarask and also what more she can do since I think Mary will bring her back to the church.
Painful

Warning: Spoilers
The entire episode consisted of Ava running away whilst looking confused and scared and Lilith/Mary chasing after her. Intermittent fighting between Lilith and Mary with okay choreographing only to end on the most pointless death scene ever which stinks of lazy writing.
Come on people, I sincerely wish writers would stop dumbing down content. It doesn't have to be Oscar worthy. Some of the best series in the 90s were light entertainment but it all made sense. If I was the actor who played Lilith I'd have died laughing at her final scene. Not sure it's worth carrying on with this series after this episode.

Slow

This episode moved painfully slow, with the back and forth with Mary and Lilith, and the indecisiveness of Ava. And honestly, for an order that's sole purpose is to protect the halo, they don't seem to care that it's gone.
Bad writing

Warning: Spoilers
The hyper-competent nun, the one who was supposed to become the next ring-bearer, took the sword which could literally kill the demon she was up against. But instead of cutting of the arm to stop a attack, she just runs in front of the demon to protect Ava sword-in-hand, when seconds ago she was trying to kill her?
Very, very dumb. Inconsistent character and literally just there to make Ava the one who slayed the demon and the only one who can stay the ring-bearer. The end-scene felt incredibly forced. I can't understand why the writers just killed her off when there was absolutely no logical reason she should have died. Although it might have been because she couldn't see the demon? Weak writing nontheless.
