Just saw this episode and OMG!
I need a hug after that. Every emotion hit me during this as i waited to see who survived. Still in bits now. This was television at its best, as it followed Dr Max Goodwin and his team. This is my favourite show. I was hooked from that first scene.

The episode is well written even if, to be honest, it was pretty clear that Georgia was dead.
Why does Max bring Luna to the hospital day care if, after only three months Georgia should probably be at home recoverying from a major accident?
Moreover, in the end, before we see the flashback of her, dead on the operating table, she is still in bed and says again "it's your turn", just like if she couldn't be able to take care of the baby. Maybe she got paralyzed? Nope, worst case scenario: she is dead.
It's tough, no doubt. Max's greatest fear has become reality.
I think the season will be hard to watch, hope they won't focus too much on his pain, because I understand it's part of the show, but he doesn't deserve so much suffering.
That being said, they wrote a good season premiere, for sure.

Second Season The Best Medical Drama

The second season of New Amsterdam includes in the very first episode one of the most powerful and wrenching twists of television ever experienced. The each episode of the whole next season is filled with hard-hitting, relevant emotional, ethical, and real medical issues currently found in hospitals in America along with possible practical solutions to keep Americans from dying. Most episodes include scenes hard to sit through because of the intense and delicate portrayal of many medical issues faced by the characters in the series and yet their resolutions beckon to be watched and experienced, encouraging audience members to come back for more. Except for two discontinuities, including one miraculous recovery from one episode to the next one, the medical drama series is nearly perfection in its delivery and as well written and performed as possible for its captivated audience. While this season continues to expand into more controversial topics, the many delicate issues exposed are powerfully expressed in a valuable way that television audiences can at least consider and reflect on. This series is a must see for anybody who has had confront the medical industry in one way or another, including one of the best portrayals of mental health based on 18 years of direct personal experience as a retired clinical social worker. Overall the first two seasons of New Amsterdam are both an indictment of the current medical industry but also an inside look at the human beings dedicated to helping others with compassion and integrity and many possible ways we as Americans can help.

I was really excited about this show at the first but it turned out to be another Greys Anatomy (and really fast). Too much soap opera dramas and politics!! I didn't like it that they killed Georgia. We don't need this extra drama. Isn't it enough that max has cancer? I might be outnumbered here but it's not exciting it's exhausting!
