- Vince disagrees with E and says that Medellin is a great film. They are all crashing at Drama's place after they got kicked out of the hotel. E says that the movie is good, but it is just too long. He gives some ideas on how to cut or shorten some scenes to reduce the run-time of the movie. Ari withdraws his daughter from the school that wont give admission to his son because of Ari's bad manners.
While Eric is trying to figure out how to fix Medellin (by cutting short some scenes that make the movie too long), Billy submits it to Cannes, a move that will make it difficult for Vince to find work if it is rejected. E says that they had agreed to wait till the Sundance festival, but Billy says he has already done the Sundance. Billy also says that as per contract he has the say on the final cut, and so he doesn't have to make a single change as per E's notes. Vince wants E to leave Billy alone. French have the biggest mouths in the world. If the film gets rejected at Cannes, the whole world will know that the movie is not any good.
Ari says that it is not advisable to screen the movie at Cannes without having a distributor in place. If the movie bombs at Cannes, Vince's career might not recover from it. E says that they need to get rid of Billy Walsh, but he has final cut rights in his contract. Ari advises E to sell the movie to an investor, which will take the final cut privilege away from Billy & allow E to cut the movie the way he wants to. Billy had given E a trailer to his cut of the movie. Ari loves the trailer and suggests that they take the movie to Harvey (Maury Chaykin) (the director whom they turned down at Sundance the previous year). But when finds out that Vince loves the movie (and that E hasn't discussed selling the movie with Vince), he tells E to go away. E decides to go to Harvey directly.
Ari tells Vince about the deal E wants to do with Harvey. E gets an offer for $ 25 MM from Harvey. Vince tells E that the movie got into Cannes & they both decide not to sell the movie to Harvey. E agrees that maybe he is wrong about the movie.
Drama has a date with a woman (Donna Deveny) he has desired for years, and brings Turtle along for her friend, who turns out to be an older woman. While Turtle reluctantly agrees to continue on with the date, it's Drama who ends up dejected, when Donna suddenly decides that she wants to have sex with Turtle.
Vince finds himself at Dennis Hopper's house (after he gets picked up by a girl on the highway, who takes him there) where he bets on a soccer match, with money he doesn't have (Dennis offers $100K out of his $1 million bet on Manchester United and Vince takes it). The team Vince bets on, loses the match. But Denni's betting guy forgot to place the bets and Vince catches a break. Vince then bets $100K on Brazil and wins
