"What's he got that I ain't got? is a question Brutus often asks himself, especially when he's looking in the mirror after spotting Popeye and Olive Oyl together. It bugs him no end that Olive prefers Popeye.
He checks out some of the books he has in house and discovers he has a copy of "How To Hypnotize." The first chapter advertises, "Be The Life Of the Party."
"Well, that's me all right," says Brutus who has a big grin on his face. The closeups of Brutus in here are excellent and draw laughs unto themselves. This is one of the better-drawn Popeye episodes from this 1960-61 TV series.
Obviously, Brutus succeeds in hypnotizing Olive and Popeye must resolve this crisis. This cartoon turned out to be a very disappointing in the second half because it was way too repetitive. How many times in a row can you hear Olive saying, "I love Brutus, I love Brutus, I love Brutus" This went on and on. Enough was enough!
