"Für Elise" is a West German short film from 1982 made by Christoph Schlingensief who was in his early 20s at this point. It is of course named after the famous Beethoven piece. It's probably difficult to appreciate this very short film (100 seconds) for most, but people who know a bit about Christoph Schlinegnsief and his approach to film will find his usual approach and recognition value in this film that may look very amateurish to the untrained eye. Oh well, maybe they are right to some extent. In the end, it's just a man (Schlingensief himself) standing in the snow playing the trumpet pretty unbearable and we hear the German anthem while a couple people around him are busy with their dogs or with getting the snow off the street. A typical Schlingensief. Certainly not for everybody, but I found it an okay watch, especially looking at Schlingensief's age when he made this one. May he rest in peace.
