Saturday’s episode of The Voice India, opened with a quick re-cap of the first two weeks of the show and a precap of this weekends show. The focus then shifted to the coaches who gave a comic breaking news update that coach Sunidhi had coach Mika’s sunglasses! I really do love watching the hilarious comic moments between the Fabulous Four!
The first contestant to perform of week three, was Snigdhajit Bhowmik who is 25 years old from Kolkata, West Bengal. Snighdajit performed ‘Dhan Te Nan’ from Kaminey. Coach Mika was the first to hit the buzzer followed by coaches Shaan, Sunidhi and Hr. All four coaches praised Snighdajit’s performance and then started their comic requests for him to join their team. Coach Hr even sang a popular Bengali phrase as Snighdajit is Bengali! After much cajoling, Snighdajit chose to be in team Shaan.
The second contestant was Garima Khiste.

Salman Khan may have been asked to reveal his caste in the honourable court room. But all references to caste community and creed are strictly prohibited by law in the popular arts. The censor board has asked the makers of Bombay Velvet to remove the word 'dhobi' from a song in the film. According to guidelines, all references to members of any specific caste or community is strictly prohibited through censorial guidelines. "Aamir Khan's Dhobi Ghat had to get a clearance from the dhobi community before it could be called that," says a source from the censor board. It is to be noted here that way back in 2008 for the film Aaja Nachle the word lohaar (ironsmith) had to be removed from a song and dance featuring Madhuri Dixit. Also deleted in Bombay Velvet by the censor board is a reference to God in a song where the lover places his beloved above God.

We could not pick just one scene from the great Dil Toh Pagal Hai starring Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Karishma Kapoor and Akshay Kumar. However, the two that stand out for our writers are:
That moment when Madhuri and Shah Rukh are in adjoining changing rooms in a clothing store, and Madhuri hears him whistle a tune. She later hears it again and knows it was meant to be!

This week’s Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa featured the contestants dancing on remixed music that was created especially by Music Directors Sachin-Jigar. Saturday’s show opened with the contestants dancing on the song ‘Dil Garden Garden’ from Kya Super Kool Hai Hum. Music Directors Sachin-Jigar, were warmly welcomed on the show.
Hosts Ranvir and Manish then realised that all the female contestants were not seated in the contestant area. Bollywood films are multi-million dollar productions, with the most expensive productions costing up to 1 billion rupees (roughly Usd 20 million). A large number of high-budget and low-budget Bollywood flicks make it to theatres every year. It is worth mentioning that Hindi films are watched not only in India but in many other countries across the globe. This scenario is unquestionably tempting for newcomers to try their luck in B-Town. Additionally, seasoned actors too may feel that it is the right time to make a comeback in Bollywood. Take for example Madhuri.

Mumbai, Aug 6: Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha says his debut production venture "Gulab Gang" is not based on any real-life character.
It has been reported that the film, directed by Soumik Sen, is loosely based on Uttar Pradesh-based social activist Sampat Pal and her Gulabi Gang, which works towards liberation of women in the state.
However, Sinha cleared the air through his tweet and wrote: "Also, for the record, 'Gulaab Gang' is fiction. Not based on anyone's life, loosely or tightly. So please."
The film will witness the comeback of dancing diva Madhuri Dixit on the silver screen after her 2007 released film "Aaja Nachle"..

Sunday 15th of July saw Salim-Sulaiman take to the stage to entertain a packed audience at London’s Hammersmith Apollo, the beautiful art deco theatre which has hosted many legends such as The Beatles and Bob Marley. Bollyspice was there to catch it all and to share the highlights of the evening for those of you who were unfortunate enough to miss it…
Salim-Sulaiman are a pair of extremely talented musician brothers, who started off composing background movie scores for Bollywood films. They are now successful music-directors, who have worked extensively with Yash Raj films (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Band Baaja Baaraat), amongst many others. They have also worked with acclaimed international stars like Lady Gaga.
Salim opened the evening sharing with the audience how they have been recording in the studios for the last fifteen years and only now felt that they could bring their music to the stage in London.

Beginning with Hamesha in 1997, the great musical duo of Salim and Sulaiman Merchant have given Bollywood’s actors and actresses, and of course, fans some of the greatest music heard and danced to in Hindi Cinema. They are the gentlemen behind incredible soundtracks such as Aaja Nachle and Chak De! India in 2007, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Fashion for 2008, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year and Kurbaan in 2009, Band Baaja Baaraat (2010), Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and Love Breakups Zindagi for 2011 and so far in 2012 Jodi Breakers with more to come. Phew! The mind boggles with how many great songs are on those Ost’s and how many tracks of theirs I have added to my all time favorite song playlists. Besides composing, the brothers have embarked on a world tour. They just finished up a hit Us tour and now are getting ready to thrill and entertain UK audiences on July 14th and 15th.

Arshad Warsi, whose performance as the raunchy rogue Razzak Hussain aka Babban in Ishqiya (2010) won him critical acclaim, has asked for a meatier role in Ishqiya sequel.
Arshad who is paired opposite Kangna Ranaut in the sequel titled Dedh Ishqiya, was not too happy with his role in the sequel. He felt that it wasn't big enough and voiced his displeasure to director Abhishek Chaubey. Abhishek gave in to Arshad's demands and is currently reworking on the script.
Dedh Ishqiya also marks the comeback of Madhuri Dixit, five years after Aaja Nachle. Madhuri will play the role of Shahi Begum and is paired opposite Naseeruddin Shah in the film.
Produced by Vishal Bhardwaj, Dedh Ishqiya will go on floors in September this year.

Madhuri Dixit: fabulous actress, amazing dancer and that smile that lights up the screen and the world. She creates magic on screen. To celebrate her birthday and to celebrate the Dancing queen coming back to Bollywood we polled some of our writers to find out what was their favorite Madhuri Moment on screen. Many could not think of just one and had, had, had to write about more than one, even up to six yes six! Sit back, relax and enjoy some of our favorite Madhuri scenes and of course dances!
Charla
Aur Paas…(Dil Toh Pagal Hai, 1997)
My favorite scene involves Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit and is from the movie Dil Toh Pagal Hai. According to me, this is one of the most romantic scenes ever (and what else to expect from a Yash Chopra movie), but with a playful touch and that combo makes the scene so interesting to watch.

Let’s face it, 2011 hasn’t been Bollywood’s best year, and there’s much that can be done to make sure 2012 is better. Let’s take a look at what should be the industry’s top fifteen resolutions for the New Year.
1. Use “Hinglish” titles only when appropriate!
I wonder if it’s even fair to label Bombay’s film industry the “Hindi” film industry, because I’d say at least 50% of film titles in 2011 have been in English. Sometimes using English in a title works (i.e. The Dirty Picture, Tanu Weds Manu), but these Hinglish (many times, simply English) titles often elicit a “Wtf.” Titles like Always Kabhi Kabhi, Luv Ka The End and Love U Mr. Kalakaar are unintentionally hilarious (read: stupid) while generic English titles like Game and Ready are just plain lazy. A title is one of a film’s first selling points and...
