When Hector and Bob first meet the priestess, Bob identifies himself as "John Frum." That is the name of a tall white messianic figure related to the cargo cults in the islands of that region. Perhaps it was meant as joke by the writers, or perhaps the character Bob was hoping to be mistaken as a god to get what he wanted (à la The Man Who Would Be King). In either case, the priestess doesn't take the bait.
Around 18 minutes, as Bob is trying to push his way into the hut with Jackie, there are two men guarding the entrance. The taller, younger one has a Greek letter (Omega) branded on his right arm, but it's missing the left hook. As he turns, you can see the double Omega brand on his left arm. This brand is seen on many members of Omega Psi Phi, a historically black fraternity founded in 1911 at Howard University.
