Treasure and greed
After a number of episodes made up of mostly three segments, it was great to have 'Tiny Toon Adventures' return to an individual story format. For the first time since "Who Bopped Bugs Bunny". The story sounds like a great one, not innovative but anything that involves searching for treasure has more often than not very entertaining and nostalgic. The show at this point had a period where it was somewhat up and down, never being terrible but only a few episodes between "Inside Plucky Duck" were great.
"No Toon is an Island" is one of the great ones. 'Tiny Toon Adventures' briefly returned to classic form with "Brave Tales of Real Rabbits", and it returns to near-classic form with one of the best episodes in a while with "No Toon is an Island". It handles its concept entertainingly and affectionately, the personalities of the characters and their chemistry truly shine and what could have been excessively predictable felt fresh instead in my view.
It's not perfect by all means, with the pace being rather too frantic at times.
However, the animation is very vibrant, richly detailed and with smooth and sometimes bold (namely the expressions) drawing. The music is hip and infectiously character and the theme song will never stop being a classic, has yet to get old.
The dialogue constantly brought such a smile to my face, was smart and witty and made me laugh frequently, delivered by immensely talented voice actors (some of the most prolific and at the time some of the best too) in their element. Tress MacNeille again shows off her versatility.
Did enjoy the story a lot, it isn't dull at least and didn't feel too thin to me. The character interaction really sparkles as does the entertainment and nostalgia value. All the characters are true to character and are funny, interesting and likeable, no flaws exaggerated and nobody is too perfect. To me the greed was not too overdone.
Concluding, great. 9/10
