This edition saw the third series moved from a Sunday night slot to Friday evenings for the rest of the 1985 run, save for Nothing Like a Quiet Sunday (1985), which saw it briefly shifted back to Sunday around the festive period.
This new timeslot saw it in direct competition with Blankety Blank (1978) for nine weeks, a ratings battle it lost on all occasions. While this edition fell to 47th place with 8.51 million viewers, Episode #9.7 (1985) was 23rd with 10.97 million.
Although the two shows would overlap in early 1988, they wouldn't be totally in direct competition again until October 1988 - by which time, their fortunes had reversed, and Me and My Girl was the ratings victor.
