- The Power of Believing: Kai and David try to recuperate after the events of the last episode. Things don't go well. The plans of the evil corporation that created the feral vampires moves to their next phase.
- A year has passed since the Red Shield ship went down. Following its demise, Kai, Lewis, and David took refuge at a farm outside of London. The farm is owned by David's friend Glay, once David's instructor in the military before David joined Red Shield. Glay lives a simple country life, tending chickens, sheep, a garden, and two orphan children -- Nahabi (boy) and Javier (girl) -- and a teenager named Monique. Kai and Lewis continue to hunt Chiropterrans, which are becoming an increasing problem in London, although the public blames it on "vampires" and "terrorists" since the existence of Chiropterrans is still a hotly-guarded secret. David has fallen into a deep depression and finds his solitude in a bottle. Although confined to a wheelchair, Joel has been working on an "ignitor" bullet, which he has presented to Kai along with the hope that David will stop hating him for what happened to Riku and the Red Shield. Rumor has it that Julia and Collins have moved to the United States. Saya and Haji have not been heard from since they stayed on the sinking ship to fight Diva and Carl.
The Goldsmiths, however, have been very busy. They have developed a new tactical special force, nicknamed the Corpse Corps, which is comprised of genetically-engineered biological robots. In a demonstration before U.S. and British brass, James and Arjano were able to show how three Corpse Corps soldiers are able to dispatch a Chiropterran using no heavy artillery, just swords. Both the U.S. and Britain are eager to obtain soldiers of the Corpse Corps, and James estimates that a special forces unit can be established within three months. Even Julia and Collins, who were also watching the demonstration, have to admit that the Corpse Corps are better answers to the Chiropterran threat than Saya, who was an "unstable weapon," as Collins puts it. As the special force robots are being loaded onto an airplane, two Schiff watch from a perch on the roof.
Meanwhile, in another part of London, a Chiropterran has killed one policeman and is turning on another when an ignitor bullet from Kai's gun rips into the monster. It slows down the Chiropterran, but its wounds quickly heal and the Chiropterran is on the move again, joined by two more. Just when it looks like Kai and Lewis are goners, a familiar figure emerges from the fog. It is...Saya!
