Not the best pilot ever
I'm watching again Skins' first season, in original language with subtitles because Italian dubbing isn't the best we could hope for.
To tell the truth, this first episode is not very good since it doesn't contain any character development or heart under it. It simply shows a group of teenagers behaving in an hedonistic manner (exaggerated, but in some ways possible in the reality), without analyzing this behavior's causes. Anyway, this is only the first episode and there's a whole season that still has to unfold. Hannah Murray gives an hint of what her Cassie will be: I think she's the best actress of the cast, and she's also given the most interesting character.
I still can't forget the first minutes, with a silent Effy sneaking in home after a wild night out.

first eppy
Tony is the self-appointed head of his small clique of friends in this new UK teen dramady. In the pilot episode he makes it his task to get his chum, Sid, laid at a party before his 18th birthday. Things don't go nearly as planned. After viewing this premiere I found myself likening the show as kind of "My So-Called Life" meets "Degrassi" with tits and cuss words. I was hooked though and would continue to watch the series, even though all the characters are a tad on the stereotypical side thus far.
My Grade: B+
Eye Candy: the actress playing Miriam provides the T&A for this episode

Unsteady opening episode.
Disappointingly OTT
I found this pilot to be rather depressing, it gave out a really bad view of teenagers. Parts of it were cool to watch but other parts were dead boring! The characters weren't very interesting at all, but the acting was variable. Disappointing acting by Nicholas Hoult, but some other people seemed a lot better and I look forward to seeing more of them. I really don't like the view of teenagers this programme sends out, how badly it pretends they ALL behave ALL the time. Probably younger teens will watch it and think they have to behave like that - not good! All the teenagers I have spoken to about the show have agreed it is extremely exaggerated and over the top and it's disappointing that younger children and adults will now get this impression of teenage behaviour.
