Marriott is sent on a mission to India, his mission to look after Prince Ratanbir, who's life has been threatened several times.
I've forever been a fan of William Gaunt, and I love him in this series, but more often than not he's naturally second fiddle to the central character, in this one though, he is the central character, and it's a cracking episode.
Now, my expectations coming into this were low, made a long, long time ago, when attitudes, and casting were different, years after this white actors would be made up to look black, Oriental etc, but credit to the casting team here, for the most part, it's authentic. Saeed Jaffrey did a great job here as Prince Ratanbir.
A good story, and pretty well made, of course the budget wouldn't have stretched far, but there are some nice sets and costumes, and the black and white filming perhaps hides a multitude of sins.
Strange to see an episode where Cork is only in it for a moment or two, Barrie probably had a deserved rest.
Very good, again. This final series was perhaps the best.
8/10.
