- Frank Lindemann is no longer happy with his position in the hotel. Unless his father gives him more responsibility in running the hotel, he wants to leave and work elsewhere. When current hotel manager Jasny announces that he will marry gallerist Gabriella and move to Ibiza with her, a position opens for Frank and his future in the family hotel is secure. While searching the room of a guest who had persistently, but unsuccessfully, tried to buy a painting, any painting, from Lisa, for the stolen portrait of Sarah, Max Lindemann finds a collection of items belonging to the hotel in the man's suitcase, but not the missing picture. Max finds a way to show the thief that he has been found out without the need of an embarrassing confrontation. The missing painting is eventually discovered by the maid in the room of the young man who has been so smitten with Sarah all along. Max is concerned when a guest settles her bill days before the end of her stay and gives her clothes to the maid. When she leaves the hotel early the next morning he follows her and is just in time to save her from drowning herself.
