So far in the history of “killer bear” cinema, only Grizzly Park opens with an excerpt from The Bible. As “The Children Destroyed by Bears” goes (without getting too deep into other interpretations), a pair of bears mauled many kiddos after they insulted God’s prophet. The absurdity of such a tale would naturally lead to a movie just as, if not more inane. However, who or what exactly is pulling the strings in Tom Skull’s one and only directed feature is not so clear, at first. Is this fuzzy destroyer acting of its own free will, being manipulated by a human, or is there really an omnipotent force meting out bizarre retribution for naughty youths? In a movie as oddball as Grizzly Park, not a single one of those notions would be considered unsuitable.

Written by Matthew D. Ward who co-directs with Justyn Ah Chong, American Killing is the feature debut for the both of them. A thriller with elements of horror and drama, this is something both unique, startlingly dark and very interesting indeed. A movie that took me entirely by surprise, and here’s the why’s, what’s and where’s.
The plot itself follows Jeb, whose cartoon program is in danger of being cancelled by the network. Unrecognised nor complimented for his tireless work ethic, Jeb knows that in order to keep his job he needs to go to drastic places. Jeb, along with a team of writers is sent to a house in...

Making a sequel to even a hit independent horror film can be a daunting task. It might not hold quite as much accountability as coming up with the next entry in the X-Men or Batman franchises, but still a nerve-wracking charge nonetheless. It’s a challenge Co-Directors Dallas Richard Hallam and Patrick Horvath embraced when asked to helm the follow-up to Nicholas McCarthy’s supernatural thriller The Pact.
The Pact was a sleeper hit for Director / Writer Nicholas McCarthy who worked the film festival circuit and successfully secured theatrical and home entertainment distribution through heavy-hitters like IFC Films, E One Entertainment, and 20th Century Fox. Reviews for the movie were mainly positive not only through major horror outlets like Shockya.com and Horror.com, but mainstream ones such as the Hollywood Reporter, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, and Village Voice. Let’s just say Hallam and Horvath had their...

If someone were to ask you if The Asylum was ever going to make a theatrically released film, you’d probably respond, “Don’t hold your breath!” Turns out Don’t Hold Your Breath will be the title of their first ever big screen bound slasher flick starring “30 Rock” beauty Katrina Bowden.
You would expect with The Asylum building a reputation producing mockbusters and outlandish “mega” movies that their first foray in big screen moviemaking would be cut from that cloth. And you would be wrong. Don’t Hold Your Breath is an original horror flick in the vein of Shocker, The Horror Show, and Fallen.
Are you familiar with the old wives' tale that you should hold your breath when passing by a cemetery lest an evil spirit rejected by both heaven and hell gets inside of you when you inhale? Someone in a carload of college kids on...

Let me start off by saying I watched last week’s wildcard, Grizzly Park, and it made me think twice about even including wildcards from here on out. Not that it was terrible, it was just a bit boring with little action until the very end. But then I remembered how much fun I had with a previous wildcard, Eyeborgs, and decided they will stay. Hopefully, you guys understand these are completely blind recommendations, usually bred from my love of b-cinema but occasionally more “refined” tastes, unseen by me. So while I make no apologies, I can say if you watched last week’s wildcard, I feel your pain.

Anyone familiar with the making of Steven Spielberg's classic film Jaws will know that there were times when the making of the movie was a nightmare for everyone on set. In hindsight, though, it was definitely worth the trouble because of the influence the film has had and the devotion shown by its many fans.
None of those fans can be more devoted that the makers of The Shark is Still Working (Tsisw). Tsisw is an independently-made documentary that oozes adoration for Jaws. Nonetheless, it manages to be nautical miles better than many making-of features Hollywood puts out as glorified advertising for its products. It was produced by uber-Jaws fans James Gelet (Grizzly Park, The Marks of a Cult: A Biblical Analysis), Jake Gove (webmaster of JAWSmovie.com), J. Michael Roddy (The Psycho Legacy), and director and Jaws prop collector Erik Hollander (Grizzly Park). The appreciation these people...

Get ready for some camp in the direct-to-dvd release of the film Grizzly Park. While its not a hardcore horror film, the filmmakers behind it know exactly what it takes to have fun with a animal attack movie. Get a handful of ridiculously attractive young adults, bring them out in the woods and have them terrorized by a serial killer And a grizzly bear. The producer of the film, Belle Avery - a former actress and now producer of such high caliber fare like Before the Devil Knows Your Dead - spoke with Bloody-Disgusting about how to keep your bear happy, and the next incarnation of the highly anticipated prehistoric shark film Meg!
