- For its UK cinema release the film was pre-cut by the distributors to remove a scene showing teenagers smoking a strong form of marijuana in order for the film to receive a '15' certificate. The footage was restored for the DVD and the certificate raised to '18'.
- FX airings include an extended version of the phone conversation scene between Ted and Cheung. Ted's son interrupts the conversation and asks his father to cut the call short so he can have the phone to himself. Ted refuses to listen to his son's demands and the scene continues as usual.
- There are two versions. Runtimes are "1h 51m (111 min)" for the R-rated theatrical release and a six-minute longer cut for a total of "1h 57m (117 min) (unrated) (United States)" for the home video release. Most of the difference can be found in additional dialogue consistent with the remainder of the film and story segments. Details on the differences can be found at movie-censorship.com.
