The bus which features in the assault is preserved SELNEC bus, fleet number EX1. This was the first experiment in creating a PTE-wide standard "Mancunian" vehicle for the local area. It was withdrawn from service in 1983 and subsequently preserved as an important part of Manchester's transport history.
