Ozzie and Darby run into each other at the malt shop while Ozzie is making an ice cream order. Darby asks Ozzie if they are doing anything tomorrow night. He wants them to come over and play cards and watch TV. Darby wants a simple evening, beer, and pretzels. Ozzie makes the remark about how Sally likes to make a big fuss over everything. He says that Harriet is not like that. Darby says that they should head over to Ozzie's place instead.
Harriet suggests they put on some polka records with the beer and pretzels. Ozzie says they just want some sandwiches. If they want some atmosphere, they should have some knockwurst sandwiches with the beer. Things begin to pick up when Ozzie asks Harriet why she is vacuuming. She wants the house to look clean and they need some beer steins to have something nice to serve the beer in. Harriet also says that they must have the Williams over too. They can't have the Darby's without them.
Ozzie was a master of taking simple ideas and turning them into terrific episodes. This is another one of them. A simple little evening turning into so much more.
