Clare is now in Australia, and Eleanor has fallen out with Vera Polling. Clare is as irritating as ever, though looks really grown up, Eleanor is now grumpy, and has lost some of her spark. Sarah attempts to patch things up between her and Vera.
It's a nice start to the forth series, it does have a very different feel to the previous episodes. Poor Joan Sanderson doesn't look in the best of health, which is sad to see. A wonderful actress, most famous of course for appearing as Mrs Richards in Fawlty Towers.
Valerie Brown on the Pension counter finally makes an appearance, we've heard about her so many times through her sister Mary, here we see the old gossip at work.
Why did they have to change the opening credits and music? Shows had an awful habit of doing this, I wasn't a fan of these changes, I preferred the old ones. Bygone books also looks very different.
