The show begins with Steve Allen and guest star Ann Sothern singing Steve's hit song "This Could Be the Start of Something Big" as they walk thru the backstage of the NBC connecting studios. They are soon joined by Steve Lawrence and Edye Gorme. As they continue singing and briskly walking, the foursome come upon Dinah Shore who is filming her show. She quickly joins them and the five of them continue singing and walking as they soon pass another show being filmed. It appears to be Frank Sinatra under his famous street lamp who begins to sing the song as well. However, it is actually Duke Hazlett, famed Frank Sinatra impersonator who continues to sing while he turns and walks down a corridor. The five continue singing and walking at a brisk pace back to the Steve Allen set to the delight of the studio audience.
