A terminal cancer diagnosis is actually the least frightening thing that The Midnight Club‘s Ilonka must face in a new trailer for the Netflix horror series.
Based on Christopher Pike’s 1994 novel — and co-created by The Haunting of Bly Manor vets Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong — The Midnight Club centers on eight ailing teenagers who reside at Brightcliffe Hospice, described in the show as “a place for terminal teenagers to transition on their own terms.” But upon arriving at Brightcliffe and meeting her sick peers, thyroid cancer patient Ilonka (played by #blackAF‘s Iman Benson) is welcomed into the titular club,...

This Young Justice: Phantoms review contains spoilers.
Young Justice Season 4 Episode 22
Remember all those kidnapped kids last season?
Markovia, vaguely eastern European home to Brion Markov, was briefly home to a metahuman trafficking ring led by Baron Bedlam. They kidnapped kids, soaked them in super goo, and the ones who lived had their meta gene activated. They were then sold to various partners through Bialya, including to Darkseid, Granny Goodness, and the hordes of Apokolips.
Turns out one of those kids is the Kaizer-Thrall.
“Rescue & Search” is the first episode of the last arc of Young Justice: Phantoms. It’s the first to focus on Nightwing, though it’s a reunion of sorts of the original team. Zatanna brings Dick her theory that Conner is trapped somewhere, still alive and hidden. Dick and Z take a trip back through this season, connecting with Artemis, Rocket, and eventually Aquaman, and unravel...

Netflix engineer Tara Field has been reinstated after she criticized the company’s new Dave Chappelle special on Twitter. Netflix has maintained that her suspension had nothing to do with that criticism, but was rather about Field’s unauthorized attendance — and that of two other employees — at a high-level meeting.
“It is absolutely untrue to say that we have suspended any employees for tweeting about this show. Our employees are encouraged to disagree openly and we support their right to do so,” said a Netflix spokesperson on Monday.
A company spokesperson also confirmed Field’s reinstatement today, along with that of the two other employees, and said Netflix “will be distributing broader guidance about meetings and clarifying which are for which people. ”

A Netflix engineer critical on social media about trans remarks Dave Chappelle made in his controversial stand-up special The Closer has been suspended by the streamer as co-ceo Ted Sarandos declares the company doesn’t believe the GLAAD-slammed special crosses “the line on hate.”
“You should also be aware that some talent may join third parties in asking us to remove the show in the coming days, which we are not going to do,” Sarandos wrote in a memo (read it in full below) that was sent to employees Friday following a top-tier staff meeting.
“I can only assume Ted did this for preemptive damage control if some big names call out the company and Chappelle,” a well-placed individual at the streamer tells Deadline. “It’s all about the optics and the relationships — typical Hollywood.”

Netflix has suspended three employees for crashing a meeting of its top executives, including an out trans person who criticized a new comedy special from Dave Chappelle, sources tell Variety.
Terra Field, a senior software engineer based in San Francisco, was among those suspended late last week for attending the “Qbr” — Netflix’s quarterly business review, a two-day affair that convenes the top 500 employees at the company.
Field, who identifies as queer and trans, and the other employees were not invited to the virtual gathering, according to insiders. Netflix did not suspend Field over recent tweets decrying what she called anti-trans jokes in the Chappelle special, individuals familiar with Netflix said, but for attending uninvited. An investigation has been launched into the three employees.
Field did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

PBS has instituted new diversity, equity and inclusion disclosure requirements for production talent and staff and committed $11 million to new initiatives, the public broadcasting network announced Tuesday.
Under the new criteria, producers will be required to “create and share their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (Dei) plans for all new agreements, describe how their project aligns with PBS’s Dei principles, and disclose representation data for production team members for both above-the-line talent and below-the-line positions.” The requirements will apply to all new agreements, series renewals and direct-to-pbs programs on all platforms, including children’s programming and digital.
PBS recently came under fire for allotting a disproportionate amount of its airtime and funding to programs from Ken Burns. Back in March, more than 130 filmmakers signed an open letter criticizing PBS for what they described as a “systemic failure to fulfill a mandate for a diversity of voices.” In response to the letter,...

I’ve enjoyed most of the first eight Fast And Furious films. That made this ninth installment, F9, all the more disappointing. Granted, the whole premise of this handful of outside-the-law car nuts evolving from petty crooks and party animals to international espionage super studs, while still being societal outcasts, requires a hefty suspension of the ol’ disbelief. This chapter raises that particular ante beyond acceptable levels.
First of all, we learn how Dominic Toretto’s (Vin Diesel) father died. We also discover that he has a brother (John Cena) who’s never been mentioned in the first eight films, despite all of Dom’s blather about the “importance of family”, including significant roles in the early films for his sister...

Ryan Coogler’s Proximity Media has officially entered the television game and they’re making theirs Marvel! Or at the very least Disney. The news was confirmed Monday afternoon by Deadline, which reported Coogler’s production company signed a five-year exclusivity deal with Disney. This means Coogler will be producing and developing television projects exclusively for the Disney+ streaming service, beginning with at least one drama series officially set in the Kingdom of Wakanda.
To say this news will likely make Marvel fans happy is an understatement. Because in addition to a Wakanda series, Coogler’s official statement also left the door open for working on other Marvel shows at Disney+.
“We are especially excited that we will also take our first leap [into TV] with Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and their partners at Marvel Studios,” Coogler said in a statement. “We’ll be working closely with them on select...

(Warning: This post contains spoilers through the Season 1 finale of “Fate: The Winx Saga.”)
In the Season 1 finale of Netflix’s “Fate: The Winx Saga,” a live-action adaptation of the Italian cartoon “Winx Club,” fire fairy Bloom (played by Abigail Cowen) goes through a metamorphosis that allows her to defeat the army of Burned Ones threatening her magical boarding school.
Bloom — who thought she was a regular human teen up until a flaming accident at home led to her admission into Alfea — goes into full-on fire fairy mode, fiery wings and all, to shoot out burning blasts at the evil creatures.
It’s in this moment, after our six-episode journey with the “changeling” who was placed with a human family at birth, that viewers learn just how powerful Bloom really is — and when she herself learns, too.
“The whole reason that Bloom was put into the Firstworld was because she...

Supernatural boarding school? Redheaded heroine? Untrustworthy adults? Yes, Fate: The Winx Saga checks off all the requisite boxes for a Netflix teen drama — along with one fairy important twist.
For the uninitiated, Fate is a live-action adaptation of a popular Italian animated franchise about fighting fairies called Winx Club, which has existed in various forms — including hundreds of episodes, multiple spinoffs and several films — since 2004. Though the characters’ designs and scenarios have undergone multiple changes throughout the years (for better or worse), Netflix’s decidedly adult adaptation marks the most significant departure from the source material to date.

When I first heard they were making a live-action adaptation of Winx Club, I was thrilled. I fondly remember the early-2000s cartoon with its ridiculously fun fashions and core group of girls who will do anything for one another. Then I saw the casting of said group for Netflix's Fate: The Winx Saga, and my enthusiasm waned. Don't get me wrong; Abigail Cowen, Precious Mustapha, Hannah van der Westhuysen, Elisha Applebaum, and Eliot Salt are all talented actors who don't deserve the hate they've received from the community, but the whitewashing of the show is apparent and shouldn't have happened in the first place.
As a white person, sometimes it's hard for me to recognize the blatant whiteness of shows because the characters on screen reflect what I look like and I don't often feel othered by experiences I see. Yet, with Fate: The Winx Saga, it was...

Australian broadcaster ABC’s flagship current affairs show 4 Corners has set the record straight about a scene in Season 4 of The Crown involving the country’s former Prime Minister Bob Hawke.
Episode six, Terra Nullius, opens with Hawke — played by Richard Roxburgh — being interviewed at ABC’s studios in 1983 about welcoming Prince Charles and Princess Diana to the Commonwealth nation.
During the exchange, The Crown writer Peter Morgan quotes Hawke as saying: “An unelected non-Australian who lives on the other side of the world and, for all their good intentions, is a different breed. You wouldn’t put a pig in charge of a herd of prime beef cattle, even if it did look good in a twinset and pearls.”
But 4 Corners pointed out that Hawke never uttered these words. “While we’re loving the fact that you’ve featured us in @TheCrownNetflix, we’re in the business of facts...

“Gamera vs. Viras” was to be the final film in the series but its success in the box office spurred Daiei Film to ask Noriaki Yuasa to continue the series with the main focus being children. The budget was to be the same as the previous installment, a paltry 20 million yen (more than a few times smaller than that of the original “Gojira”), and the shooting schedule was again a few weeks. The movie premiered in March 1969 and was, again, a huge success, earning more money than Toho’s “All Monsters Attack.”

We have the highlights of what's coming and going from HBO Now and HBO Go in March 2020.
March 2020 is an extremely HBO month for HBO.
What we mean by that is that the list of new releases for the month contain a lot of the hallmarks of the HBO brand that the network has built over the years. There is the third season of an expensive and popular sci-fi series with Westworld season 3 premiering on March 15. Then there's also the requisite new David Simon series when Philip Roth adaptation The Plot Against America premieres on March 16.
If that weren't enough, March 2020 sees the arrival of a big ticket superhero movie with X-Men: Dark Phoenix arriving on March 21. It's not a good big ticket superhero movie, but still! You may want to rewatch it all the same. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is a sort of superhero movie itself.

MaryAnn’s quick take… Upends expectations, demythologizes the mythos, and takes an iconic series in a bold new direction with a story full of humor, courage, and dazzling imagery. I’m “biast” (pro): I’m a huge Star Wars fan
I’m “biast” (con): nothing

This is not going to go the way you think,” Luke Skywalker says to… well, someone who needs to hear it. Someone whose arrogance is borne of shortsightedness and narrow expectations. And this is also Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s word of warning to the audience. To us. This is the Star Wars movie, after all, from writer-director Rian Johnson, the guy who gave us The Brothers Bloom, a tricksy movie about con artists that knows we go into a movie about con artists with certain assumptions about what we’re about to see.

There’s no 20th Century Fox fanfare this time, of course, which is weird, because to this day, whenever I hear it, no matter what film it’s allegedly attached to, the excitable eight-year-old inside me pops up to whisper, “Maybe it’ll secretly turn out to be Star Wars. Thankfully, there is no Disney ident, either. X-wing fighters doing a flyover of Cinderella’s castle would have been an unpleasant reminder of how worried I was about the Mouse’s takeover of this franchise.
All those worries have been laid to rest.

Lucas gets a story credit and served as executive producer, but this has the whiff of a vanity project for cowriter and director Gary Rydstrom, making his feature debut. Yes, legendary sound designer Gary Rydstrom, who’s won seven Oscars in that field and has created some of the most memorable movie noises ever for films including Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, and Minority Report, but who, the evidence of this movie suggests, has no business writing and directing a movie.

With Dwayne Johnson vehicle Hercules under his belt and recently announced sequel Snow White and the Huntsman 2 coming down the pipeline, screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos is rapidly gaining favor with major Hollywood studios. Though he cut his teeth on kiddie flicks like Pooh’s Heffalump Movie, Battle for Terra and Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, the scribe has been steadily transitioning into larger blockbusters, and now, thanks to his work on Hercules, Spiliotopoulos has been brought on board to adapt another high-profile project – Fox’s adventure thriller Seven Wonders.
Based on the upcoming book by Ben Mezrich (The Accidental Billionaires, Bringing Down the House, Sex on the Moon), Seven Wonders focuses on a man who attempts to discover the reasons for his reclusive mathematician brother’s murder, a venture which hurtles him into a vast conspiracy involving the Seven Wonders of the World. Disney’s quest to re-imagine the contents of its back catalogue continues, with confirmation that Bill Condon will direct a live-action version of the studio’s 1991 Oscar nominated animated feature, Beauty And The Beast. The great modernisation of Disney classics has thus far been well-received by audiences, who embraced updated versions of Alice In Wonderland and The Wizard Of Oz (aka Oz the Great and Powerful), and most recently carried Maleficent to a $170 million opening weekend. With this latest project, the studio is clearly hoping to capitalize on that success.
The story – based on the traditional fairy tale first published in 1740 from the pen of Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve – has been filmed many times since Jean Cocteau’s 1946 version, La Belle et la Bete. Disney’s own 1991 animation of the tale was directed by Kirk Wise and Gary Trousdale from a screenplay by Linda Woolverton. Billed as a musical romantic fantasy,...

Update: Ouija is back from the dead. Michael Bay is still producing and the first actor was cast today. In the story, a gruop of teens try to contact their dead friend with a Ouija board but contact a very, very evil spirit. "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" star Daren Kagasoff will play Trevor, who doesn't think trying to connect with the dead friend's spirit is a good idea. Juliet Snowden and Stiles White wrote and will co-direct, they co-wrote The Possession and the Nicolas Cage movie Knowing.

Aug. 25, 2011 - Ouija has been scrapped by Universal, allowing producer Michael Bay to shop the film elsewhere. Fandango reports that he already took it to Paramount (where he's made over $1 billion this year alone with Transformers 3) and they said no. In this case, we can safely assume that it supersucks because Paramount definitely owes Bay one. Universal's original multipicture deal...

Leave it to Hollywood to turn something as respectable as the Navy’s formerly uber secretive Seal Team 6 into a silly horror movie idea about Navy SEALs fighting supernatural demons and monsters and whatnot. That’s the idea behind the movie “Seal Team 666″ (Get it? 666 instead of 6? Gut buster!), which has Dwayne Johnson currently attached as its lead, as well as executive produce. The movie will be based on the series of books by Weston Ochse, and will chronicle “an elite group of Navy SEALs who battle demons and assorted threats and discover that there’s a greater supernatural force bent on destroying the world.” Evan Spiliotopoulos, who penned “Battle for Terra” and recently the Dwayne Johnson vehicle “Hercules: The Thracian Wars”, will adapt the books for MGM. There is currently no director attached yet, so who knows, this might end up in the toilet of development hell and never happen.

The American Film Market is now underway, which means lots of casting and updates to projects that are looking to get sold over the next week. And so, let's just dive into some of the movies that will be hawked on the sales floor.... Because normal dramas don't get made by studios anymore, stuff like "Seal Team 666" keeps happening. Dwayne Johnson will star in the MGM movie about "an elite group of Navy Seals who battle demons and assorted threats and discover that there’s a greater supernatural force bent on destroying the world." Believe it or not, this is actually based on a book written by Weston Ochse with a script from Evan Spiliotopoulos (The Rock's upcoming "Hercules," "Battle For Terra"). No director is attached yet. [THR] In more heartening news, Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden's "Mississippi Grind" is still moving along, adding Sienna Miller to the cast of Ryan Reynolds and Ben Mendelsohn.

I think we can all agree that Spike Lee.s upcoming remake-joint of Chan-wook Park.s South Korean masterpiece Oldboy is the most nefarious remake of an Asian film that we.ve heard about, we can now anticipate the second-place holder, but without any of the virulent verve that Oldboy inspires. TheWrap is the bearer of weird news this time, reporting the 2007 Japanese CGI anime film Vexille will be getting Americanized in live action, which actually makes sense given the United States is involved with the film.s plot. Here.s the kicker, though. The screenplay will be written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, one of the co-writers of Brett Ratner.s upcoming Hercules remake with Dwayne Johnson. Warning signs ablaze yet? His biggest collective claim to fame is having written a shitload of not directly-awful direct-to-video sequels of Disney classics, as well as the mediocre animated sci-fi flick Battle for Terra.

In the last few years, we've had two "Sherlock Holmes" movies, and both an American and British TV series based on the character. Apparently that's not enough, because Paramount Pictures is now in talks with Evan Spiliotopoulos (The Lion King 1 1/2) to write the script for the remake of "Young Sherlock Holmes." The story follows Sherlock Holmes and John Watson as they meet as teenagers in England, and embark on a series of sleuthing adventures. Chris Columbus wrote the original film, which was executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall, and directed by Barry Levinson. Columbus is producing the remake. The new movie will likely go straight to DVD, since Spiliotopoulos writes mostly DVD films like "Cinderella III: A Twist in Time" and "The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning." He was also responsible for "Battle for Terra," one of the lowest-grossing wide releases.

"John Carter" is coming. You can't escape him. This Confederate soldier turned Western outlaw turned world explorer turned interplanetary warrior (and lover, reowwwr!) is the most discussed fanboy movie since "Avatar."
Even my old man peeked his head out from behind his copy of "The Wall Street Journal" to ask if Disney was gonna lose their shirt on this picture. Then I fetched him his pipe and slippers and waited for Mother to finish braising the roast.
A lot of weisenheimers have taken it upon themselves to beat their social media chests over how derivative the movie looks. "Haven't I already seen 'Attack of the Clones/Avatar/Flash Gordon/Stargate/Planet Hulk'?" some of these douchenozzles have been musing. (Hey, fellas, they're called Tharks, not Snarks!)

Sons of Anarchy Season 4 Episode 14 To Be Act 2 Review. Sons of Anarchy: Season 4, Episode 14: To Be, Act 2 contained a big surprise but also something that I wished did not happen. I wanted Jackson ‘Jax’ Teller (Charlie Hunnam) to get free of Samcro and go off and be happy with Tara Knowles (Maggie Siff) and his two children. I knew, just like with Alias and Sydney Bristow, that some reason would pop up that would keep him there. My guess was accurate. Sons of Anarchy took the road most traveled and kept Jax around.
What would have been fantastic is if Jax did leave and then was drawn back around episode 3 of season 5 for some reason.
I knew something big was going to happen in the season finale but I never expected the Central Intelligence Agency. I am an avid watcher of Showtime’s Homeland but never saw that coming.

Certain stories stick with us as a culture, providing imagery that can cause a flood of emotions to most of the general populace. These themes, tracing back to the earliest orally told tales, resonate with us in ways we aren’t always fully conscious of: the lone hero’s triumph over oppressive evil, the hilarious case of mistaken identity leading to wacky hi jinks, two people falling in love despite all the odds being against them. We are familiar with all of these stories and they affect us in amazing ways. The characters and settings may change, but ultimately all of our favorite stories borrow from what’s come before, building on a tradition of fictive conventions going back to ancient times.

Briefly: In 2009 Universal and Atari partnered [1] to begin the process of developing a movie based on Asteroids, one of the very earliest classic arcade video games. (Or, more properly, Universal won an auction to the rights and Atari took the studio's money.) There is no story in the game at all -- players control a small ship that has to blast its way to safety (which never comes) through a field of giant asteroids. Appropriately for a big sci-fi film with little story, Roland Emmerich was loosely attached [2] to Asteroids for a while, but ultimately passed [3] and decided to make Singularity for Sony instead. But Universal is going forward with the movie, and has just hired Evan Spiliotopoulos (Pooh's Heffalump Movie, Battle for Terra, and perhaps most crucial, some work on Snow White and the Huntsman and Wanted 2) to write a new draft. All we've got with respect to...

Craig here with Take Three. Today: Danny Glover
Over the last decade Glover hasn’t seen the prolonged exposure that he once enjoyed, yet mostly still deserves. But he’s been doing good work in a vast array of projects, both mainstream and arthouse none the less. In a quintet of artful independents The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), Manderlay (2005), Bamako (2006), Honeydripper (2007) and Blindness (2008) he gave strong, varied turns. Barnyard, The Shaggy Dog (both 2006) and Alpha and Omega added family fare to his résumé. A couple of pay-the-rent Saws (first and fifth) and a thankless turn in Death at a Funeral (2010) didn’t harm his career. A couple of presidential engagements, Battle for Terra (2006) and 2012 (2009), kept him afloat. And finally some bona fide solid gold support in Dreamgirls (2006) and Shooter (2007) reminded multiplex audiences just how good he is.

As with Peter Berg’s Battleship, Hollywood is bringing the Ouija board to the big screen in a film adaptation directed by McG (Terminator: Salvation, Charlie’s Angels). The film was originally written by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (Tron: Legacy), but Variety is reporting that Evan Spiliotopolous has been hired to rewrite the screenplay. Ouija is set to be a more family-friendly film than one would expect, and Spiliotopolous already has experience in that field having written Tinker Bell and The Lost Treasure and Battle For Terra.

2011 marks the tenth year the Oscars have singled out animated films for their own Best Animated Feature Oscar and I started looking over the list of nominees and began to wonder how they might match up with public opinion.
In ten years 34 films have been nominated for the Best Animated Feature Oscar, eight of those nominees have been Pixar films, five of which went on to win with Cars and Monsters, Inc. serving as the two that didn't end up taking home the gold. So Pixar has obviously been crowned king by the Academy, and this year I think we're all expecting Toy Story 3 to make it six wins for the animated studio. Does this mean the top eight animated films over the past ten years were produced by Pixar?
Of course, this isn't an exact science. Looking at only the Academy's animated nominees means several films aren't even...

HollywoodNews.com: There’s not too much to say about a 24 minute slugfest. The story is pretty simple: Black Adam shows up, Billy Batson becomes Captain Marvel, action and thematic elements occur. Most of the entire second and third acts of this extended short film is basically a smackdown between Captain Marvel and Black Adam, with the occasional assist from Superman. There is just enough substance (what makes a hero, the difference between being good and doing good, etc) between the fistcuffs to make it a worthwhile endeavor. The animation is bright and gorgeous, and the vocals are solid per usual. James Garner brings the same warm authority as Shazam that he did in Battle For Terra. Arnold Vosloo makes a fine Black Adam, and he works well off of Jerry O’Connell’s virtuous but questioning Captain Marvel. But the best part of this little mini-movie...

Basically the gist is that 3D is in peril, and the big savior of the format will be “Tron: Legacy.” The piece itself is harmless, and to be fair it’s more of an advertisement for “Tron: Legacy” than a real discussion about 3D. Gordon Gekko proved to still be a commodity after all of these years, but the weekend closing bell rang on a bearish note for upstarts Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole and You Again. Overall business was up three percent over the same weekend last year, when Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was on top. After greedily acquiring approximately 5,100 screens at 3,565 locations, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps accrued an estimated $19 million, which was above par for an adult-oriented drama but relatively modest for the scope of its release. On-the-money comparables are hard to come by, but the Wall Street sequel's first weekend gross was close to Burn After Reading and nearly twice as much as The Informant! and Michael Clayton. The first Wall Street debuted nearly 23 years ago and earned $4.1 million its first weekend, or the equivalent of double that adjusted for ticket-price inflation, but it played...

I've been very vocal when it comes to my distaste for 3D. I think it's a gimmick that sucks more money out of moviegoers when you don't get anything in return but a headache and a darkened picture. Films like Alice in Wonderland and Clash of the Titans looked awful and Pirahna 3D gave me a headache for hours. Is 3D getting any better? I'm happy to say that in some cases it is.Despite my reservations, there have been some pretty great 3D experiences for me in the theater and they've all come from animated movies. True, I have said many times that the 3D darkens the picture and you miss some detail in cartoons, but when it's done right it actually enriches the experience. I'll give you some examples of animated films I thought worked and those that didn't, leading up to the whole point of this article,...

Having directed the first two Harry Potter movies (and been executive producer for the entire franchise) Chris Columbus once again takes to the director's chair for a tale of a misfit schoolboy who discovers that he is actually the heir to a magical kingdom and is swiftly dispatched to superhero school where similarly gifted kids learn to fight dragons etc. Sadly, this is not the latest Jk Rowling adaptation, but the second-rate, sub-Hogwarts knock-off Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief in which the earthbound offspring of Poseidon must visit Heaven and Hell in search of Zeus's missing fiery bolt – with the help of his stalwart new school-friends.
Even the publicity images look like dodgy Potter offcuts, with three teens (two boys, one girl) striking Potteresque poses against stormy skies which hide lurking beasties illuminated by Hammeresque gothic flashes.

Universal Pictures have just sent us the trailer for a movie which originally came out in Us cinema in 2007, UK cinemas earlier this year and has now made it’s way to DVD. The movie is an animated sci fi called Battle for Terra and has a voice cast which includes Evan Rachel Wood, Luke Wilson, Brian Cox, Justin Long, James Garner, Chris Evans, Danny Glover, Dennis Quaid and is directed by Aristomenis Tsirbas.

Square Enix committed to a release date and voice acting talent today with a hefty announcement about "Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep." The PlayStation Portable title will launch on September 7, 2010, and Mark Hamill, Willa Holland, Jesse McCartney, Leonard Nimoy and James Woods will all contribute their voices, though the big reveal didn't include which characters they'll be portraying. Woods would presumably be voicing Hades, which he's done before, and McCartney is listed on IMDb as portraying Ventus and Roxas, who he's voiced in previous games.
"The entire development team is extremely happy to announce the North American release date for 'Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep,'" the series' director Tetsuya Nomura said in a press release. "We hate to keep fans waiting, but we've added some brand-new features for the North American version, so even those who have been following the Japanese version are sure to find a few surprises.

Edge's $43.3 million final 70-day tally was significantly less than past vigilante-revenge movies like Taken ($145 million), Gran Torino ($148.1 million) and Man on Fire ($77.9 million). It also came up short of two similar Mel Gibson movies from the 1990s: Ransom banked $136.5 million (over $235 million adjusted for ticket price inflation) in 1996, while Payback grossed $81.5 million (nearly $125 million adjusted) in 1999. Edge did at least sell about as many tickets as movies like Righteous Kill ($40.1 million), The Brave One ($36.8 million) and The Punisher ($33.8 million), but this is...
