David Bowie’s 1974 album Diamond Dogs was reportedly supposed to be a full-fledge musical of George Orwell’s 1984.
“The track list for David Bowie’s 1974 album Diamond Dogs offers a couple obvious clues about one source of inspiration: song titles include both ‘1984’ and ‘Big Brother.’ But Bowie didn’t just want to use themes from George Orwell’s 1984 on the record. As Open Culture reports, he initially hoped to turn the 1949 dystopian...

A previously unissued David Bowie live album highlighting the singer’s mid-Seventies work is set for Record Store Day.
I’m Only Dancing (The Soul Tour 74), featuring segments of a pair of concerts from that trek, bridges the gap between 1974’s Diamond Dogs and 1975’s Young Americans. Bowie’s site announced the release Thursday.
Previous Bowie live albums from the 1974 tour — 1974’s David Live and the 2017 reissue Cracked Actor (Live Los Angeles ’74) — were recorded prior to the I’m Only Dancing concerts, which featured a more soul music focus as...

What happens when you put the greatest action heroes of all time into one movie? You get the epic explosion of badassery that is "The Expendables 2."
Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis and Jean-Claude Van Damme lead this sequel to the successful 2010 action film about a band of hired mercenaries. Although they're one cohesive unit, with so much testosterone gathered in one movie, we couldn't help but pit these actors against each other to see who can really be considered the most badass, based on their fighting style, muscle mass, studliness, weapons expertise and one-liners from their entire filmographies.
Whether they're a martial arts master, a skilled sniper or a bodacious bodybuilder, read on to see who's really the least expendable of "The Expendables 2" cast.
12. Yu Nan
Most of Yu Nan's films have been dramatic romances, like "In Love We Trust" or "Tuya's Marriage," with...

Dolph Lundgren’s set to star in the action sci-fi horror mash-up, Battle Of The Damned. And once again, his character has an action hero name to die for...
Although hulking man of action Dolph Lundgren’s been busily making lots of films since his glory days in the 80s and 90s, it was great to see him appear in The Expendables, 2010’s explosive box of macho fireworks which starred too many other geek favourites to list here.
With The Expendables 2 now in post production, Lundgren’s all set to start shooting on his next film - a sci-fi horror action mash-up called Battle Of The Damned. News of this film actually seeped out a couple of weeks ago, and I’m ashamed to say it slipped right past me - a terrible oversight, it turns out, since the its premise sounds gloriously daft.

Watching TV With The Red Chinese is based on a Luke Whisnant young-adult novel that co-writer/director Shimon Dotan (Diamond Dogs) seems to have fed into a blender. The film begins in garbled flickers of animation giving way to live-action footage, a portentous voiceover (“Everywhere there’s meaning, order, shared knowledge”), a doctor’s interview, and home-video clips. The timeline jitters out of order, dropping viewers into a scenario it takes far longer than necessary to discover is straightforward and self-seriously soap operatic. Ryan O’Nan stars as a New York-dwelling English teacher who befriends three Chinese exchange students who ...

No, really, you’ll never guess.
According to Cinema Blend, The Expendables 2 will introduce a female character that “…won’t simply be the damsel in distress. Instead, she’ll be kicking ass and taking names with the rest of the gang.” And they have the photos off the blog site to prove it.
But I really doubt the results will be quite as exciting as we hoped, as Yu Nan is cast as the female ass kicker in the picture.
Told you you’d never guess.
Despite dozens of actresses with action film backgrounds (and I believe most of our favorite choices were covered here), the filmmakers decided to go with an actress with no background in action movies, at least based to my Internet search.
Okay, she was in the film adaptation of Speed Racer. But rather than playing an undercover agent or something cool like that, she...

From Splash Page: No matter how many times Marvel's Punisher films start over from scratch, Dolph Lundgren will always be the first-live action Frank Castle.
The iconic action star wrote, directed and headlined in his latest direct-to-dvd film "Command Performance" and returns to the big screen in 2010 for Sylvester Stallone's "The Expendables." As far as upcoming comic book films go, however, "Conan" is the only one that has his attention right now, and he said he hasn't been keeping up with the skull-shirted vigilante he first portrayed in 1989.
"No, I haven't seen any of [the new 'Punisher' movies]," Lundgren told MTV News. The Swedish-born actor has kept a tight schedule since he began directing his own movies like "The Mechanik" and "Diamond Dogs," so it's understandable that he might not be able to find the time.
