Hysterical
rhob196027 February 2007
Brilliantly funny. The terrible SFX (no doubt planned so) remind me of The Toxic Avenger (you know the first one, which was good). The scenes of utter depravity and violence (especially the useless gang guy who gets all kind of mutilations visited upon his body before getting killed), were just hilarious. This makes me wonder when we'll get to see a full length version. It was certainly better than garbage like Hostel, Saw or Cabin Fever, all movies that took themselves way too seriously. I'm hoping that we'll see a sequel to Bagman. He was like Leon the Professional, only fifty times more violent. A really dark and funny piece of work that I applaud. Vive Le Bagman!

Mega-fun gory gory hallelujah!!!! Warning: Spoilers
Alright so the tone of this short was so completely ridiculous and crazy but I just loved it, the exaggerated cartoon way that everybody talked and acted was simply hilarious. I was a bit confused by the nationality of the hysterical gang of no-good street punks. They seemed to be French but then some of them would be cracking the gangland parody clichés in complete English! And apparently I hear they were Canadian too? Gah, did not get that! The explosively colourful gore of it just made me smile, and even though some of the more outrageous bodily dismemberments did look like paper mache body parts and cherry sauce blood, it just worked, and with the intentionally trashy and cheerful shorts and films(Troma)such as this it never really matters how cheap and cheesy the effects may look, as it just tends to add more to the fun and charmingly low-budget B-movie tone. I love a good macabre joke, and this whole exercise was one of the best ever. It's all very fast-paced and drags not for a single solitary second, and things get real extreme guts-flying-and-splatting-against-the-walls style gory once it really gets going with the main mad mêlée of Bagman vs the gang of pimps and punks - go Bagman!!! Death to wiggers! The big bloodbath fight which I'd say is the sole highlight of the story was surprisingly well choreographed, it reminded me of the freewheeling fight scenes of the old Power Rangers show, they way they'd all team up to fight the goofy monster. And it was an impressive feat to say it looked like it was probably made on a virtually non-existent budget. It looked like whatever money they did have was put into the admittedly terrific gore effects. I liked how they used the weird sound effects in conjunction with the insane bloody combo sight gags, and great timing with all the quick shot cuts and flying blood sprays and limbs and such! My favourite was the spade to the head 'n toss kill - Fatality! Bagman wins!!! Despite having the cheapest costume imaginable, Bagman was pretty bad-ass. Except for the part where the girl ripped the bag off his head and shrieked in utter horror, and then he ran away screaming like a little girl! So that was the key to conquering the bombastic Bagman! As far as I could tell, he's supposed to be some kinda twisted anti-hero of sorts, although I couldn't imagine what the girl did to incur his savage ninja-like wrath.. I think, with a little stretch of the imagination, Hobo with a Shotgun with Rutger Haugher could be seen as the movie- length version of this sweet little slice of urban madness! A very cool and very entertaining tribute to the old nuts grind-house films. Very nice, well done. Rock da beat!!!

THe best 20 minutes of my life!
whammy66621 October 2007
I saw a screening of this at Rock and Shock. It has subtitles, and is in French, but it's okay, you don't really need to read what they are saying to understand what is going on, but some of the stuff they say is funny. The film includes an excessive amount of gore, and though not the best, the special effects are pretty decent. This film includes more gore in 20 minutes than most films have in 90 minutes! I mean, the whole film is basically gore. It is about a killer with a bag over his head, ironically named Bagman, and if you say his name three times he comes and kills you, and in awesome gory ways. When a woman runs into some punk gangstas they say Bagman three times and try to battle the ferocious bagman! It's awesome, if you ever get the chance see it!

Grotesquely brilliant
nigpie26 September 2006
This Short film has to be one of the best ones I've ever seen. It is a bloody masterpiece that once your through with it, you will be confused and happy. It is just so out there and awesome because I'm not sure if its trying to be serious or not. Either way it is frickin hilarious and has to be the most violent movie that I've ever seen. It will make you cringe but at the same time, you will be laughing your arse off. The bagman is just so B.A. and just is the coolest pycho murderer I've seen in a movie. Just take my advice, watch this movie. It doesn't make any sense, but there's a reason it has an 8.9.

Great film for absurd horror fans
oos_005s26 October 2006
This movie is amazingly good. Im not a fan of horror, but this movie is like some parody to horror. The special effects are so obvious, and the blood and gore is so obviously fake and poorly done, that it gets very funny. It probably was the purpose of the directors to make the film look so fake, and that really is why I laughed like crazy. Some people may be disgusted, some people will find it hilarious. It's like the part in Kill Bill: the amount of gore is so absurdity high, that it's funny. This movie is also clearly a parody to all the "gangsta" movies because the gangsters in this one talk and act so dumb (on purpose) that it makes their characters hilarious. A must watch!

Slasher version of Bad Taste!
alucardvenom10 April 2008
OK first of all this movie is SUPPOSE TO BE BAD and it never takes itself too seriously. It's fast movie and you'll get a lot of blood, guts, gore, slashing and bashing right from the start. The night I wanted to watch this movie with my friends I didn't expect too much from it. No, seriously. Title and cover looked very bad so I thought it will be just "another zero budget SBiG movie". I was wrong. Dead wrong. Yes, this movie had $0 budget but gore, blood and satirical parts of it will make you laugh and love this little movie which is 19 minutes long.

I won't say anything more, but if you can get copy of this make sure you watch it. It's like a slasher version of Bad Taste with even lower budget.

Bagman, My New Favorite Horror Movie Killer
Humdinger6910 October 2013
Basically, this girl is on the run from a killer named the Bagman, who appears when you say his name three times, and is run over by a group of wannabe gang-bangers. After the gang-bangers mock the woman and say his name three times, the Bagman appears and a bloody, gory war ensues.

This movie, while only 19 minutes long, is incredibly gory, almost Dead Alive level gory. All of it is prosthetic (as far as I can tell) and looks very good, it's creative, and all of it has a very over-the-top and slapstick tone. Like the girl who keeps getting hit on the head, or the guy who gets thrown into a trash can by the Bagman and then spends the rest of the movie stumbling around with the trash can over his head, and slips on a severed head. I found myself laughing several times throughout, not just at the slapstick, but the gang-banger characters. Listening to these guys talk "gangsta" was hilarious, especially the Boss, who was my favorite character of the entire movie (with the exception of the Bagman himself of coarse).

I can be a little generous with my ratings sometimes, but I don't give a 10 to just any movie. This one deserves it, it's comic genius and incredibly gory. Well worth my time.
