Pretty bad German romantic comedy with lawyers Warning: Spoilers
Let us start with the good thing about this almost 10-year-old television movie: The first half is not as horrible as its title. But then it goes south so quickly that this is almost the only positive note I can make here. The film is directed by Zoltan Spirandelli, an experienced television filmmaker and also its writer is fairly prolific. Spirandelli cast some of his children for this film which says it all pretty much. Really disappointing that this 92-minute film turned out such a mess. There are some dramatic sequences, which don't work at all and the comedy is almost never funny. Of course, it's also predictable that the male main character will get together in the end with the female main character. Fritz Karl is a good actor, but cannot elevate a character written so badly, for example with the way he sucks as a father as he cannot ignore his job in these situations and still acts like a lawyer. It gets old and repetitive pretty fast. Ann-Kathrin Kramer is a mediocre actress, frequently pretty bad actually. And the quotes by the kids, especially the young ones, are a complete mess, entirely unrealistic and they would never talk like that. I simply cannot recommend this movie, also because the ending scene in the courtroom was one of the weakest moments of the film too.
