[Here at the Dallas Police Department. They have arrived at the elevator]
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : I hate to rush you here like this but we got a call a while ago about a woman here in the drunk tank that fits Sue Ellen's description.
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : Is she alright? How long has she been here?
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : I don't even know if it's her, Miss Ellie. Over here.
[Sheriff Baldwin meets the Sgt. Tim Lenthicum at the desk]
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : Sheriff Baldwin, Braddock. You got a Mrs. Sue Ellen Ewing locked up in there.
[Sgt. Lenthicum will check]
Dallas Police Sgt. Tim Lenthicum : Nope. Nobody by that name.
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : That can't be right. Check again, will you? You guys called to tell me you had a match-up to a missing person.
[Sgt. Lenthicum gets the idea]
Dallas Police Sgt. Tim Lenthicum : Oh, right, right. Uh, lady didn't have any ID on her. Pretty bad shape, but she did match the description that you all sent out.
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : Can we see her, please? We've come to take her home.
Dallas Police Sgt. Tim Lenthicum : I'm afraid you're too late. They took her about an hour ago.
Clayton Farlow : Took her? Where?
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : Let me guess. Detox?
Dallas Police Sgt. Tim Lenthicum : [Nodded] She was having a pretty rough time, shakes and all.
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : Thanks. Let's go.
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : Where's detox?
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : You go home. I'll go there.
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : No, we're going with you.
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : I don't think so, it's not the place where people like you belong.
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : If Sue Ellen's there, that's where we belong.
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : [sighs] If Sue Ellen's there, she's in trouble.
[the elevator door opens]
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : Come on.
[They both leave]
-
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : Well, the emergency rooms have been checked. And from this point on, all accident reports are being channeled through our office.
Clayton Farlow : Well, she just didn't disappear off the face of the earth.
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : This photograph of her will help.
Jenna Wade : Where would she go?
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : Judging from what you told me wherever she can get a drink. She could be anywhere in this city sipping her blues away.
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : Sue Ellen's had lost weekends before and she's always come home. But this time, I'm afraid it's different.
Jenna Wade : It all sounds so awful. Isn't there anything we can do?
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : Short of forming a posse, no.
Clayton Farlow : Sheriff's got a lot of ground to cover. It'll take time.
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : And time's the one thing an alcoholic runs out of fast. If we don't find her, you folks are gonna have to reconsider going public with this thing. Make a statement to the press or trying to reach her through the media. I know how sensitive J.R. Is about the publicity but it may be the thing that saves her life.
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : We understand that. And I'm sure J.R. does too.
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : He must be terribly upset by this. Tell him we're doing everything we possibly can, will you?
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : Yes, of course.
[Phone rings]
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : Miss Ellie, we were all real sorry to hear about Bobby. He was a fine man.
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : Thank you, Sheriff. You'll call us?
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : I'll be in touch.
[Sheriff Baldwin will leave now and call them. But Raoul got a telephone call]
Raoul : Miss Ellie? J.R. is on the phone.
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : Thank you, Raoul.
[Miss Ellie answers the phone is J.R]
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : J.R.?
J.R. Ewing : Mama, I-I checked with the sheriff earlier. He said he's gonna need a picture of Sue Ellen.
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : Yes. They were just here.
J.R. Ewing : [On the phone] Oh, nothing new?
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : No. I'm afraid not. But they'll find her, J.R.
J.R. Ewing : I know. I know. If anything happens...
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : I'll call you right away.
J.R. Ewing : [On the phone] Yeah, you do that.
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : Bye, J.R.
J.R. Ewing : Goodbye.
[Hangs up the phone]
J.R. Ewing : Damn, where's that woman?
-
[Here at the detox ward. Miss Ellie, Clayton, and Sheriff Baldwin have arrived]
Braddock County Sheriff Baldwin : I'll be honest with you, this place makes my skin crawl. I'll wait out here. You can wait with me, Miss Ellie.
Clayton Farlow : Why don't you, Miss Ellie?
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : Which bed?
Dr. Canlan : 13. Patients you see are all here for the same reason. To detoxify. To dry out. It's a very risky process.
[Woman moans. The woman screamed. The nurse will help her calm down]
Dr. Canlan : Delirium tremens. More commonly known as the D.T.'s. They all get them. They don't all survive 'em.
[Arrived at Bed 13]
Dr. Canlan : 13.
[Check his clipboard]
Dr. Canlan : Jane Doe, female, Caucasian. Weight: approximately 110. Height: approximately 5'10". Eyes: green. Hair: brown. All her teeth. Whoever she is, she's in very bad shape. I'll turn here over, you can tell me if it's who you're looking for, okay?
[Miss Ellie nodding]
Dr. Canlan : You gonna be alright?
Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow : Go ahead.
[Dr. Canlan will turn that it is Sue Ellen. She is whimpering. Miss Ellie gasps. She was in shock of Sue Ellen]
Dr. Canlan : We'll go to my office.
[Dr. Canlan will take Miss Ellie and Clayton to his office]
