Image Source: Getty "I'm Harry. I'm from England," is something I could probably never get tired of hearing Harry Styles say while holding his guitar in a room full of his adoring fans. I heard him introduce himself that way in seven different cities on his debut solo tour this Fall, and each time made me love him just a little bit more. Related2017: The Year Everyone Else Figured Out What Harry Styles Fans Knew All Along Truthfully, I love Harry Styles more than I love a lot of things in life. His music is artful and he's a charming fellow, but it's the whole world that surrounds him - this fandom - that make his shows my favorite place to be. All along “Brawl in Cell Block 99,” S. Craig Zahler’s road-to-perdition follow-up to his similarly descent-tinged debut feature “Bone Tomahawk,” you can feel just as much what the writer-director is railing against in his genre choices as what he’s flexing. Action heroes are too cheeky and boyish, so Vince Vaughn’s cornered bruiser is grown-ass, dedicated to his family, and stoic. Fights have become quick-cut messes, so these scraps will be in long takes, and you’ll be able to tell Vaughn is performing them. The stakes in these scenarios tend to be glib and empty, so this one will curdle your.

The Transformers mythology is an eons-long inter-galactic tale that is rich in its own history. We have the rise of intelligent techno-organic lifeforms, a split between rival points of view, and a struggle for supremacy. All along the way, for reasons that are never spelled out in their history, Earth has been of particular interest to the Autobots and Decepticons.
That much has powered countless comics, animated episodes, and four live-action feature films. Rather than marvel at the wonders of the cosmos or reveal to us why the planet is important, the fifth installment, The Last Knight, retrofit the Knights of the Round Table to an already convoluted and, frankly, boring film series. This film, out now on disc from Paramount Home Entertainment, more or less retreads the first four films, mixing returning humans and Transformers and adding in a few new figures to freshen things, and yet, no one cares.

What more could we want to know about one of the most popular directors of all-time? Evidently, a lot. While Steven Spielberg is hard at work in the editing bay finishing his drama The Post in time for a release in later this fall, a new documentary spanning a comprehensive 2.5 hours will premiere at the New York Film Festival, followed by a HBO debut.
Aptly titled Spielberg, Susan Lacy’s documentary chronicles the life and career of the blockbuster king, featuring interviews with Francis Coppola, Brian De Palma, George Lucas, Martin Scorsese, Tom Hanks, John Williams, Janusz Kamiński, Leonardo DiCaprio, Spielberg himself, and even his parents. The entertaining first trailer has now bowed and can be seen below along with the poster and Nyff description.

All along, showrunners Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle have been telling us Arrow was seen as a five-year odyssey, intended to be the same amount of time post-Lian Yu, to show how he has grown since being stranded there. Other than that noble notion, the execution has been incredibly uneven season to season.
As the series entered its fifth year, they began the season uncertain if this was going to be its final one so they made certain things got tidied up. The tedious flashbacks had to wrap up the five years before the series’ start and move Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and his friends towards a point where, should it be canceled, viewers were left satisfied.

Disclaimer: This post contains spoilers for the Season 7 finale of Game of Thrones.
Season 7 of Game of Thrones was a slow build of tension between sister Sansa and Arya Stark. Even from Episode 1 of the series, the two never saw eye to eye, but after Sansa lied for Joffrey following the infamous incident by the river involving the butcher’s boy, things only got worse. Plus, when Ned Stark was executed and Arya went off on her own, it seemed like the two would never have a chance to make amends.
This past season looked to either finally offer them the opportunity, or send them on a course towards conflict. Even director Alan Taylor hinted at as much in what we can now see was a clear misdirect. All along, the real orchestrator of tension was one Petyr Baelish (aka Littlefinger). Just as he’d managed to turn Catelyn Stark...

Alas, the Song of Ice and Fire draws to a close once again.
Season 7 really has been one hell of a thrill ride. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) met Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) met, and brought down, a dragon, Arya (Maisie Williams) and Sansa (Sophie Turner) were finally reunited and Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) managed to put yet another bun in Cersie’s (Lena Headey) oven. It’s also boasted the best battle scenes that Game of Thrones has shown yet, with the production team finally being gifted the budget the show has been dying for since day one. Indeed, spectacle wise, it would be very easy to label Season 7 as the best of all.
However.
Things have seemed a tad – un Game of Throneish this year. Maybe it’s because the story is finally getting going, and characters are being reunited, that have been apart for a number of seasons.

This year’s New York Film Festival has just unveiled a slew of Special Events to round out its already full-to-bursting lineup, and it includes some late-breaking entries to previously announced sections and a selection of brand new events that are very special indeed. Highlights include a trio of documentary premieres, including Susan Lacy’s “Spielberg” (focused on the eponymous director, with both Lacy and her subject set to appear at the festival), along with Jennifer Lebeau’s Bob Dylan concert film “Trouble No More,” and Susan Froemke’s “The Opera House,” a history of the Metropolitan Opera and a love letter to the art form that will (appropriately enough) screen at the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center.
Other standouts include four brand-new films from Claude Lanzmann, a sparkling new restoration of G.W. Pabst’s “Pandora’s Box.” Elsewhere, Kate Winslet will be on hand for a career-spanning chat...

An honest Cage gets caught up in an offbeat thriller.“Adios, Red Rock.”
As we celebrate Texas Week here at Fsr I knew I wanted to make sure this week’s Tao of Cage had a little Texas twang. Unfortunately I do very little planning in advance and hardly ever think things through. Last week I wrote about Joe, which would have been the perfect choice for Texas Week. Joe isn’t just Nicolas Cage’s most Texas movie but I do believe it’s his only movie that actually takes place in Texas. Go figure.
There may not be another Cage movie that take place in Texas but in 1992 Cage did play a drifter from Texas. This week we’re talking Red Rock West!

The best part about being a twin is having a built-in best friend with whom you can share everything. The worst part? Finding out your twin is a full minute older than you are.
That’s the life lesson that made 3-year-old Alexis McClure break down in tears on an adorable YouTube video that has gone viral.
“Lexi, what do you think being identical twins means?” the girls’ mother, Ami McClure, is heard asking in the clip.

Have you ever heard of "The Glasses Come Off" trope? What about "The Glasses Gotta Go" or "Beautiful All Along?" They've been around a while in fiction but as it turns out sci-fi writer Isaac Asimov recognized it narrative shorthand immediately for what it was - crap. Those specific tropes spin off the more general one of "Smart People Wear Glasses," wherein a character is immediately smart (this usually also translates to nerd) if they wear glasses. Like most historical figures (and all humans) Asimov isn't without faults but this page unearthed by Twitter user @DoktorAndy from an Asimov essay titled "The Cult of Ignorance" (collected in "Is Anyone There?" in 1967) is a real revelation. Isaac Asimov's critique of the "ugly girl with glasses becoming popular" from 1956 is spectacular. pic.twitter.com/toxMCVRLgA — Doktor Andy (@DoktorAndy) October 30, 2016 I transcribed just in case that's unreadable: The cliche to which I...

A team of researchers led by Dr. John Jakicic of the University of Pittsburgh Department of Health and Physical Activity studied 470 people ages 18 to 35 with overweight BMIs over the course of two years. All participants were placed on a low-calorie diet, instructed to increase physical activity and attended counseling sessions. After six months, half were given a fitness-tracking device. Back in 2007, Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl starred in Judd Apatow’s hit comedy “Knocked Up.” The film was well received and became a modern comedy classic, but Heigl quickly seemed to have second thoughts about it. She revealed in a 2008 interview with Vanity Fair that she didn’t like the way she was portrayed in the film and how it “paints the women as shrews,” while the men look “lovable,” further adding that “it was hard for me to love the movie.”

Given that it was the first to wrap its season, it makes perfect sense that Warner Home Entertainment would unleash the complete second season of the CW’s iZombie on disc ahead of the superheroes coming in August. The 4-disc DVD set is coming on Tuesday while Warner Archive will be simultaneously releasing iZombie the Complete First Season and iZombie the Complete Second Season on Blu-ray.
The series is loosely based on the Chris Roberson and Michael Allred Vertigo series and is a quiet success, garnering solid ratings and reviews but without the sturm and drang of its fellow DC properties. In the hands of executive producers Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars) and Diane Ruggiero-Wright (The Ex List), they keep the mood light, the characters quirky, and the plots engaging.

It feels wrong to say that the man responsible for something as achingly tender as the high-concept romantic masterpiece Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is only getting personal with his work now. And yet, French director Michel Gondry's new comic adventure Microbe and Gasoline may just might be the wizard of whimsy's most intimate picture to date. Drawing on his own experiences as a Gallic grade-school hooligan tinkering with homemade contraptions, he's filtered his memories of childhood into a buddy comedy that bridges the gap between how it happened,...

It's almost here, folks. The moment many fans have been clamoring for:
Hugh Jackman's last ride as Logan, aka Wolverine, is on the way. When filming for The Wolverine III finishes, so will Jackman's epic 16 year run as the beloved Marvel Comics mutant. For better or worse, he's been the face of Fox's X-men franchise. Yes, to the chagrin of a subset of fans, he was made the unofficial star of a franchise that they'd hoped would be more an ensemble affair- as it is in the comics.
In these fresh photos from the set of the James Mangold-directed The Wolverine III we get our first real glimpse of what Jackman's last hurrah will look like. All along we've known this film would include elements from the classic "Old Man Logan" story arc from the books, and it's safe to say Jackman is using every second of his...

Like most high school girls, Ashely and her friends from Miami's Southridge High School know a lot about make-up - or at least they thought they did. "I know the basics, but airbrushing? If you've been hankering for science fiction based RPG on your modern consoles, you might want to put The Technomancer on your radar now. Today brings about a solid look at the game via a lengthy gameplay trailer. Come inside to take a look!
Okay, so it's part game trailer, part dev diary (as one of them is walking you through some of the game's mechanics and areas). Even so, it' still pretty impressive looking:
While, the story/setting seems pretty typical of the dystopic sci-fi genre, it's still gorgeous and looks like it could be a lot of fun. Considering the dearth of Sci-Fi RPG games out there right now, it's definitely something to look forward to.
You play as an apprentice Technomancer, Zachariah, who represents one of the powerful corporations warring for the most precious resource on the red planet: water. The Technomancers are formidable warriors, harnessing destructive...

Los Angeles (AP) -- Nancy Reagan, the helpmate, backstage adviser and fierce protector of Ronald Reagan in his journey from actor to president - and finally during his 10-year battle with Alzheimer's disease - has died. She was 94.
The former first lady died Sunday at her home in the Bel-Air section of Los Angeles of congestive heart failure, assistant Allison Borio told The Associated Press.
Her best-known project as first lady was the "Just Say No" campaign to help kids and teens stay off drugs.
When she swept into the White House in 1981, the former Hollywood actress partial to designer gowns and pricey china was widely dismissed as a pre-feminist throwback, concerned only with fashion, decorating and entertaining. By the time she moved out eight years later, Mrs. Reagan was fending off accusations that she was a behind-the-scenes "dragon lady" wielding unchecked power over the...

It's hard to really talk about this movie without giving away a spoiler that happens in the first 10 minutes of the film, so beware of light spoilers ahead. The basic plot of the film follows a guy named Josh, who moves forward with plans for a getaway to reconnect with his friends after a tragic event.
The tragic event involves his fiancé committing suicide, and the plans for the getaway were actually supposed to be for his bachelor party. He couldn't get the money back for their house party rental, so Josh decided to stick with the plan even though it's under strenuous circumstances.
Believe it or not, this movie is a comedy. It stars Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley) as Josh and he's joined by Nick Kroll, Alex Ross Perry, Brett Gelman, Alison Brie, Adam Pally, Jake Johnson, Aubrey Plaza, and more.
The party turns into a few nights of crazy ridiculous antics of drinking,...

Don't mention the H-word around the makers of Son of Saul. The Cannes Grand Pix-winning Holocaust drama may play like a horror movie, with its immersive, first-person Pov journey into the tortured soul of a man forced to assist in the extermination of his own people. But director László Nemes and actor Géza Röhrig visibly recoil at the suggestion of fright-fest genre-play—even as they acknowledge their film's forbidding aspects.
"People, even survivors, told me they were scared of seeing this film," Nemes says, seated alongside his star. "But then when they watched it,...

Episode ten of American Horror Story Hotel, She Gets Revenge, works spectacularly well...
This review contains spoilers.
5.10 She Gets Revenge
There aren't a lot of action sequences in American Horror Story, but when something violent happens, as it does a lot this season, they tend to make a lot of it. The Hotel Cortez has been home to some terrible things, and it's always very stylish to behold. However, the titular Hotel is not really the centre of sweetness. Sure, there have been a few nice moments her and there, but nothing consistent, or played as straight as the reunion between Liz Taylor and her long-lost son Dennis. Throughout the episode, Liz and Iris make plans to commit suicide, but first they have to tie up their loose ends to keep from becoming prisoners of the Cortez. For Iris, that's simple: she has to cancel her magazines...

Who doesn't love a good fan theory? Sometimes it's not enough to take movies at face value. Sometimes you have to read between the lines, employ a little out-of-the-box thinking and make connections between characters or events that no one ever expected. A lot of fan theories sound like utter nonsense, but sometimes they make so much sense you find yourself wishing they were true.
Between the various movies, TV shows, comics, novels and other media, the "Star Wars" franchise has attracted its fair share of fan theories over the years. As we wait these last few weeks for "The Force Awakens," we've selected seven Star Wars fan theories that are so convincing we can't help but wonder if they might be true.
1. Qui-Gon Jinn Is a Secret Sith

David Bowie's first TV theme in over 20 years has landed and it hears the pop icon sounding as mysterious as ever.
The 68-year-old singer has recorded 'Blackstar' as the official theme for upcoming Sky Atlantic drama The Last Panthers.
The opening credits - which hear less than a minute of the track played over visuals - give fans a taster of the eerie, atmospheric song.
"On the day of execution / Only women kneel and smile," Bowie's distorted vocals chant over strings and a pulsing bass line.
"I was looking for one of the icons of my youth to write the music for the title sequence, but was presented with a god," said the show's director Johan Renck.
"His first response was precise, engaged and curious. The piece of music he laid before us embodied every aspect of our characters and the series itself - dark, brooding, beautiful and sentimental...
