Having watched this show for five seasons now, I'm sure many of you are wondering just how Beavis and Butt-head managed to get into high school in the first place. Maybe they were smart at one point, but gradually got dumber as the years went by? There are many theories on this subject, but after watching tonight's episode, I think we can get a big insight on just how the boys managed to get to where they are today. So as we begin, we see Coach Buzz Cut, now a math teacher, trying to get Beavis and Butt-head to tell him the square root of 9, and when they are unable to do so, both Buzz Cut and Principal McVicker finally decide that the boys are too dumb for the 9th grade, and as a result, decides to send them back to the 8th grade. So after Butt-head tries unsuccessfully to flirt with a 13-year-old girl, the boys are called out for not paying attention and thus, are sent back to seventh grade, then sixth, then fifth, then fourth, and now the dimwitted duo are squeezed into third grade desks, lamenting that they don't even have enough room for stiffies. So the third grade teacher, who is apparently very tough, has the boys sent back to second grade, then first, and finally kindergarten.

So after Butt-head comments that "these chicks are flat", and drawing crude symbols during coloring, the boys are given juice and cookies with the rest of the class. They spit out the cookies and request nachos instead. The teacher chastises them for spitting, which they continue to do, and the whole class follows suit. The teacher wants Beavis and Butt- head out of her classroom, and the principal comes up with a surefire solution: he deems Beavis and Butt-head as the most brilliant students he's ever seen, and moves them ahead to 9th grade, despite McVicker's vehement protests. Principal Brown says McVicker simply wasn't reaching them, and Beavis adds an ultimatum that if he tries reaching for them, he'll be kicked in the nads. So, Beavis and Butt-head are right back where they started, having not learned one thing from their experience.

This episode is pretty cool, huh huh huh. As I said before, you have to wonder how these two managed to get to 9th grade in the first place. I think they were just pawned up and down different grades just so the teachers and principals could be rid of them. Like, maybe they had to repeat each grade so many times that they moved them forward anyway just so they'd be gone. If that were the case, you'd think Highland High School would boot them up to 12th, graduate them and be done with it. But oh well. Still a great episode, even though MTV 2 used to repeat it along with "Pool Toys" ad nauseum. But there is some good news for you folks who live under a rock, Beavis and Butt-head are back with all-new episodes! They're just as funny as they were back in the day, and they've returned to critique a whole new generation of bad music videos and horrible reality shows. So check them out!
